in Eminence organic skin care, we truly believe that every day is Earth Day. As we celebrate the greenest month of the year, we also celebrate 25 million trees planted to date. Forest for the Future™ Initiative. In addition to planting a tree for every product sold, we also honor our commitment to finding earth-friendly solutions in every aspect of our business. From our lush office spaces in Vancouver, Canada to our sustainable agricultural practices in Hungary, caring for the environment is at the heart of what we do.

If you’ve ever wondered how we go green and incorporate eco-friendly practices, here’s an overview of the work we do to make every day Earth Day. Let me introduce you.

Eminence Organics’ eco-friendly initiatives

1. Plant a tree for every product sold.

Partnering with Eminence Organics tree for the futureYou can support communities in developing countries by planting a tree for every retail skin care product sold. The Forests for the Future™ initiative helps train farmers to build productive and sustainable crops and farms. This helps local communities grow their own food and build sustainable incomes for their families. As a result of our programs, trees have been planted in more than 22 countries around the world, helping countless communities and families.

Amazingly, one tree can produce about 260 pounds of oxygen per year. Trees help reduce temperatures to fight climate change while stabilizing soil by preventing erosion from their roots. It also contributes to land fertility through nitrogen fixation and increased water infiltration.

2. Green Spa Program

Our Green Spa Program recognizes companies that actively support the green movement and encourage other businesses to do so in their spas and salons. Spa operators must meet 60% of the green requirements to be recognized as an Eminence Organics Green Spa.. Requirements include choosing reusable or biodegradable options wherever possible, using power strips in treatment rooms and office areas, and turning off equipment when not in use. . Spas must also establish an in-spa recycling awareness program and use natural, non-toxic, and biodegradable cleaning products instead of chemical-based products.

To learn more about what we look for in a green spa, read our green spa requirements. You can also find a Certified Eminence Green Spa near you by using our spa search to filter for only green spas.

3. We are proud to be B Corporation® certified

As Canada’s first professional skin care company B Corporation®, we meet the highest standards for overall social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. A Certified B Corporation is a company committed to corporate responsibility that balances profit and purpose. This certification measures a company’s overall social and environmental performance with a B Impact Rating that assesses how a company’s operations and business model impact its employees, communities, environment and customers.

4. Eco-friendly packaging: retail box

While our retail boxes are printed with eco-friendly inks and made from recyclable materials, the majority of our marketing materials are FSC certified material. FSC identifies products made with 100% virgin materials from FSC-certified forests. These labels ensure that the products you purchase come from responsible sources and have been verified to meet FSC’s stringent environmental and social standards.

5. Green companies, green buildings

As a growing company, we have expanded into a larger headquarters to enhance our award-winning service to our spa partners. As we expanded our eco-friendly offices, we never forgot our commitment to being an eco-friendly company. Instead of building a new building, we reduced our carbon footprint by expanding into an existing building next door. Looking at our current office, this space takes advantage of natural light with large windows and multiple skylights for energy efficiency. Our floors are covered with carpet tiles made from 60% recycled materials, and office walls are redecorated with non-toxic paints using low-VOC chemicals. We use energy-efficient appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, and eight LED televisions. Other solutions include eco-friendly timers, LED light bulbs powered by motion sensors, and separable waste disposal devices that include sections of compostable material.

Eminence Organics Sustainable Shipping Materials

6. Sustainable transportation materials and sugar sheet paper

When it comes to shipping materials and even the paper we use in our offices, we first turn to natural plant sources. We use a combination of biodegradable packaging popcorn and unbleached kraft paper to ship our products. Our packaged popcorn is made from biodegradable potato or corn starch, which dissolves in water and becomes non-toxic and harmless waste. At the office, we use sugar sheets in our printers. These edible sheets are made from 100% natural sugarcane fiber residue and help protect forests and reduce greenhouse gases.

7. Eminence Organics Paper Bag

We are excited to tell you about the redesigned Eminence Organics paper bags. In line with our commitment to environmental responsibility, the bag’s handles are made from woven paper and the entire bag is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Additionally, the bag’s non-tapered design provides more convenience when carrying the product. Traditionally, carry bags with rope handles have been made of cotton or polyester, hampering recycling efforts due to potential contamination in the recycling chain.

As a company, we are inspired every day by the creative ways others are taking positive action to make our planet a happier, healthier place. We are also very proud to say that our business partners, loyal spa partners, and fans of Eminence Organics are all doing our part for the green movement.
