I had a hard time falling asleep last night because I was so excited that today was my day off. I feel like I haven’t had the time to really work on my products or blog in the last week or so and I miss that. I also miss the smell of beauty products so I’m really happy to have some time to spend today with my cats, my husband (who is napping right now because he had to give an online presentation at 6am) and some great beauty products.
Last weekend, I was more motivated to do things around the house than to quietly blog, so I missed #SheetMaskSunday. So I decided to bring you the #SheetMaskThursday edition. I always love masks with fruit packaging because it automatically makes you think this one is going to be a fun citrus party mask. Read on to find out if that was the case.
Aqua Energy
What’s so special about this mask? This mask is packed with many “red fruits” including strawberry, tomato, watermelon, cherry and pomegranate extracts, which you’ll find listed near the top of the ingredients list. All of these red fruits are super rich in antioxidants that protect your skin from free radicals. It also contains licorice extract and hyaluronic acid, which brighten and moisturize.
The mask itself is made from 100% cellulose, with super soft “cloud cell” fibres that mold to the contours of your face. The mask was also super soft.
Mask Overview:
price: Hmm, maybe about $3?
function: Hydration
scent: It’s almost like nothing and unfortunately not strawberry-like at all!
Essence type: Transparent, slightly viscous
interval: 25 min
thickness: thin
Mask Fit: very nice!
Stickiness: Light
Hydration: Yes, it was moisturizing and I didn’t feel the need to apply a moisturizer afterwards.
Additional notes: I know fragrance is “bad for the skin” but I wanted something that smelled like candy.
Shining Energy
What’s so special about this mask? As you might expect, this mask is packed with “orange fruits” like orange, grapefruit, papaya, apricot, tangerine, and peach extracts that are focused on brightening, rejuvenating, and evening out dull skin. These are also in the top half of the ingredients list, with the highest amount of niacinamide, arguably the main source of brightening.
Mask Overview:
price: Hmm, maybe about $3?
function: Brightens and evens skin tone
scent: Unfortunately, it’s nothing. Not the citrus burst I was hoping for…
Essence type: Transparent, slightly viscous
interval: 25 min
thickness: thin
Mask Fit: very nice!
Stickiness: Light
Hydration: Again, so nice, I didn’t feel the need to add any moisturizer on top.
Additional notes: N/A
Final Verdict: This mask fit well and was very comfortable to wear. I didn’t expect it to be very hydrating, but it was and was a bit more sticky than I usually like. I liked how well-formulated it was, but unfortunately, like many other masks I’ve reviewed, this one has been discontinued. Still, it was fun to try, even if it wasn’t my favorite.
Have a great afternoon everyone!
