Although she visits South Korea every year, Jenny Lee’s visit this time was special. The founder and designer of socks and loungewear brand Comme Si traveled to Seoul with her husband and toddler to celebrate and unveil her collaboration with USM Modular Furniture. Inspired by traditional Korean Hanok architecture, the collection includes special edition loungewear and eight custom-designed pieces of furniture, some of which feature Comme Si’s signature textiles. Built-in. Below, we share Lee’s journey from her beauty product choices to the 80s-themed restaurants she calls her “favourites.”

Dear ITG

I am writing to you after spending 10 days in Korea. I live in Los Angeles, but when I was a kid I went there every summer to visit my family. This time, I exhibited my custom furniture collection. USM in seoul 10 Corso Como. USM makes some of the best modular furniture (if I do say so myself). My collection was inspired by Korean architects and traditional Hanok design, and further customized using linens from the company I founded. Komushi. We debuted our furniture collection in New York, and it made a lot of sense to introduce it in Korea as well. So when the opportunity arose, my husband and I decided to use this trip to introduce our toddler to the country.

I specifically planned a daytime flight because my son had red eyes and couldn’t sleep and didn’t want to risk disturbing others. The flight time was 13 and a half hours, but we arrived in the evening. This was actually a great way to get over the jet lag until the plane arrived, as I could go to bed as soon as it landed and be ready for the next day’s departure. When it comes to returning, it’s a different story…

Airplanes are known to be especially drying, so I often do night skin care before a trip, regardless of the time. The main character is Aestura’s Atbaria 365 Cream. Korea’s No. 1 winter cream for 6 consecutive years. I actually bought it during my last trip to Korea. That’s amazing. And I have a small hard case kit that I always carry with me. it has Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Throat Spray To avoid getting sick, laneige lip balm, Tamburine hand lotion, Purelland huxley face mist. i had too Korean Beauty Relief Sun Aqua Fresh SPF, Sulwhasoo Clarifying Mask, medicubeand Acetura Atbaria 365 Hydro Sera-HA Ampoule with me.

For the first half of my trip, I stayed in the Yongsan area near Seoul. It’s good because there is a road that takes you directly to Namsan Pass and the forest. There is also a children’s forest. A few days later, we moved to the Grand Intercontinental Parnas Hotel in the Gangnam area as we wanted to be close to 10 Corso Como. In fact, this hotel is attached to the COEX mall, which is famous for its huge library and aquarium, and you can go directly from the hotel to the Hyundai Department Store inside. In Korea, department stores have everything from food to clothing. There is also a food court and authentic fine dining restaurants. You can even spend the whole day there if you feel like it.

Of course, the beauty shopping in Seoul was next level. There were so many good products that I was confused. Rejuran face and neck cream It’s really popular right now. It contains the DNA of salmon sperm, and people have also injected it into their skin. To be honest, I went to one pharmacy and the pharmacist was very blunt and told me that my skin won’t magically change. “It’s just cream,” he told me. I ended up showing him more products and he told me if they were worth it. I bought several bottles of the pharmaceutical drug D-Panthenol diaper rash cream. Like the Aestura moisturizer, it is very suitable for dry or irritated skin. And there were a lot olive youngas well as health and beauty stores. I received a lot of lip products hins And cushion foundation too Phew For my mother.

Immediately after coming to Korea, I received laser treatment for my face. Since wearing Corso Como, I haven’t been able to do anything that makes my face look raw or unsightly. Onda and titanium. Targets specific layers of the epidermis to tighten and lift. You should run these repeatedly for best results, but I only had time to do them twice. I was told that I would see a change in about two weeks, and that’s exactly what happened. It looks cleaner and brighter.

We ate a lot during our trip. We went to a lot of holes. I loved that the restaurant didn’t have a huge menu, just 6 or 7 dishes that were all great. my favorite is Nanpothis 80’s themed restaurant. I took my son and my mother there, and my mother kept saying that she missed the food so much. Oh, I could try it too AshocchuThis popular drink is a shot of espresso with a splash of iced peach tea. The combination of the sweetness of the tea and the bitterness of the coffee was very delicious.

I try to go to Korea quite often and it’s always interesting to see how much things change, even in a year. The retail environment is very innovative and changes very quickly, so for me it was really fulfilling to see people from different markets react to Comme Si and the exhibit as a whole. I didn’t grow up in Korea, I’ve only visited Korea, but I love traditional architecture, and being able to reflect that in my furniture and have people who live there say that my perspective is fresh is great. , it was really a surprise.

love,
jenny lee
