How to use it

Anastasia Beverly Hills says this foundation can be used on all skin types and works best with a water-based formula.
For dry skin, they suggest combining it with a hydrating primer and a matig primer for oily skin.
I tend to apply it to normal skincare and don’t know that I need to set it with flour.
You’ll need one, perhaps two pumps, and it’s best to start by applying it to the center of your face and blending it outside.

My review

Once Anastasia Beverly Hills drops new skin products, you know it’s time to pay attention! This latest release, The Impeccable Bluring Second Skin Matte Foundation, promises a perfect, weightless finish to the natural matte look. I made it a test.
I have to say, I really enjoy this foundation. I immediately saw the Nicky Wolf demo and realized I was going to continue. This is the foundation of a mat, but it is truly versatile and can be adjusted to finish depending on how you prepare your skin.
I use a small amount (one pump) for my regular skincare and it really has become perfect. It covers pigmentation and redness in the thinnest layer so it doesn’t feel heavy or look like a cake. It works beautifully with the new Medik8 liquid peptide advanced MP I’ve been using in the daytime under moisturizer and SPF. You can read about it in Medik8 Review: My Top Picks 2025.
Packaging and Formula
The foundation comes in a refined frost glass bottle with a pump dispenser, giving it a luxurious and high-end feel. The formula is described as a medium to full coverage, breathable matte finish that works to obscure imperfections while maintaining a skin-like appearance.
It is infused with skin-loving ingredients such as moist hyaluronic acid and plants rich in antioxidants, and is always interested. I have a skin combination, so the matte foundations that can balance the skin without clinging to dryness are always appealing when it comes to longevity.
Applications and Finishings
I tested this with a brush (my Leeson No. 1) Because that’s my favorite way to apply the foundation. I found out I have to work pretty quickly as the formula starts to set up soon after you start to melt it into your skin. For this reason, it is recommended to start with a small amount of product and work quickly on your skin with a thin layer. You know you only need one thing.
I use the other end of the brush to take it into what I leave it in my hand and use it like a concealer (as shown by Nikki). This means that you don’t actually need to use concealer in this formula.
This foundation can be seen to have a wonderful sparkling effect on areas where I am expanding my pores. It makes everything beautifully smooth and with high coverage that still looks like skin.
It gives the skin an airbrush look without looking really heavy and cakey. The formula melts into the skin and settles on a natural mat. It’s not flat, it has a softer matte shine.
Wear tests and longevity
I’ve been wearing this base for a whole day without setting it in powder. I have to say. I am seriously impressed. In most cases, it is absolutely perfect. It does not separate and does not settle into thin lines. It looks like the second skin.
Later that day, my natural oils begin to peer (I have a skin combination) but rather than falling apart, it appears to shine in the best way. As you know, I don’t care about the sparkle a bit!
Overall, everything is going very well. I tested the Peloton with a very sweaty ride at the end of the day and it was fine!! It faded a bit from the point of wiping my face but it didn’t look at all!

What is the range of shades?
ABH has released this foundation in 25 flexible shades. I actually thought 2N (the lightest of my sample) was too dark for me, but once it settled on my skin it turned out to fit very well with the skin tone.
What type of skin do you prefer?
This foundation is designed for all skin types and allows you to prepare your skin to prepare. Personally, I think this is best suited for people who have oily skins when combined. If it’s dry, use a nice, rich base underneath.
Do I need to powder?
I’ve never used powder in this formula, but it’s up very well. But I don’t dislike the sparkle a bit, but if you prefer an oily and matte finish, I recommend setting it in powder. Let’s see how we go!
Is it easy to apply?
I think the key to applying the perfect foundation for Anastasia Beverly Hills is to work quickly with small amounts. It blends really easily, but it’s best to work with a thin layer to achieve the finish you want.
What is coverage?
The coverage is impressive. It’s said to be medium to full and I can see that it covers everything I want without needing a lot of products.
What is the finish?
I think the really great thing about Anastasia Beverly Hills’ perfect foundation is that it is designed to be matte, but you can get any finish depending on how your skin is prepared. I use it over normal skincare and skip powder and give it a long wear finish with a nice shine.
Final Verdict
Anastasia Beverly Hills is the absolute winner in my book. If you like a base that offers a perfect yet natural matte finish, blurry textures and doesn’t feel heavy and lasts all day long, this is definitely something to check out. It’s a beautiful balance between coverage, comfort and longevity. Perfect for everyday wear and special occasions.
