My August Ipsy My glam bag arrived at the end of August, and work and life have gotten a little busy, but I’ve been thinking about this Olympic-themed glam bag (I don’t know why it’s Olympic-themed…) ! Incredibly, I’m enjoying many of the products in the August bag and may even purchase the full size!

I’m generally not a fan of liquid highlighters, but this shade seemed bronzed enough that it could be used as a liquid eyeshadow if you don’t like the feel of it or it doesn’t suit your skin. I thought it was my main powder makeup routine. It’s a brand I’ve never heard of. YC collectionbut it’s a Puerto Rican company that focuses on high-quality, yet affordable cosmetics.

Creamsicle gives a rose gold glow to the high areas of the face and blends smoothly on the skin. The texture is completely weightless and it didn’t seem to apply too much on my face or enhance the texture. It’s very comfortable to use, and I often use it on my eyebrows, cheekbones, and the tip of my nose. I received a full size worth 18 USD.

Benefit Cosmetics | Matte Milk Primer

I was surprised by this product. Because I hadn’t used a Benefit Primer since the iconic Porefessional. This was nice but had a typical silicone feel so I was expecting something similar from this primer but I was wrong. Since it has the word “matte” in the name, I was prepared for a smooth-feeling formula, but instead I was greeted with a creamy moisturizer-like texture that absorbs quickly. It will leave a slightly sticky finish, but it will not affect the foundation application process. This also really improved the staying power of my makeup and made my skin feel less oily as the day progressed. I added this to my cart for the VIB Rouge event! Dallas & James Skin Care Company |Watermelon Dream All-in-One Eye Cream

I didn’t really use eye creams to begin with, but over the past year or two I’ve started to notice dryness under my eyes, so eye creams are a big no-no now! Dallas & James’ Watermelon and Cloudberry Extract We are a small skin care company that uses things in our products. A slightly pink eye cream with a faint watermelon scent that contains no synthetic fragrances, silicones, artificial colors, or alcohol, is an unexpected and honest product. Usually if a product is pink or smells like watermelon, it’s all artificial, but this one is real. This eye cream has a smooth texture that makes it easy to use under makeup and corrects fine lines caused by dryness. Received deluxe samples worth USD 12.13.

Coles | Greek Yogurt Nutritional Probiotic Gel Cream

I’ve used Korres skincare before and thought this moisturizer would be really great. The texture is lightweight, cools irritated skin and absorbs quickly. This moisturizer also contains prebiotics and probiotics to keep your skin’s microbiome healthy. I received a gorgeous sample worth $21 USD (the full size of this moisturizer is 40 mL, so that’s a pretty generous sample size!).

Miel Skin Care | Honey Sugar Scrub

Another brand you may have never heard of, but the brand’s story is rooted in co-founder Laura’s days as a competitive gymnast, when she wore bodysuits and always shaved her beard. I was constantly experiencing ingrown hairs. Mi-el focuses on high-performance body care for the smoothest shave, and with a dense scrub like this, you won’t have to worry about ingrown hairs. This is so thick that you can have a little trouble actually squeezing out the product, but if you end up buying the full size, it comes in a scoopable jar instead. It has a light citrus scent and I would definitely buy this if it was more readily available to Canadians. Because I love thick scrubs like this. I received a deluxe sample worth $5.04 USD.

Final verdict: Taking exchange rates into account, the August Ipsy Glam Bag is valued at $84.11 CDN, which is more than the $28.33 CDN (including shipping) I paid. In fact, I love this Glam Bag so much that I even found the primer I wanted in full size. I thought the variety of products was good as well. This month was a real surprise because I had missed the timing to choose products.
