Another month, another month Ipsy Awesome bag! Now that PR is down and I no longer have other subscription boxes, I really look forward to getting the notification that my Ipsy bag has been shipped. It feels like this is what it must have been like when I subscribed 10 years ago.
Reina Rebelde | Sirena Palette
Now, before your Ipsy bag is shipped, you get to sneak a peek at what’s in it and pick one guaranteed item to be in it. Last month I didn’t notice this so it was a really random selection, but this month I took notice and went to the Ipsy website and picked one guaranteed item – this gorgeous palette by Latina. Reina Rebelde!
The eyeshadows can be worn wet or dry and, as you can see from the swatches above, are highly pigmented and versatile enough to be worn for day or night, spring and summer eye makeup looks. I received the full size of this palette for $26.
Sutra | Volume and thickness cream
I love trying new hair products and I had never heard of this brand before. ScriptureI looked into some details and they seem to be experts in hair styling tools and products that protect hair from heat and make it look like it has been blow dried. This volumizing cream is meant to be applied all over your hair, from root to tip, on damp or dry hair, before styling. I actually didn’t see much of a difference in my hair. I’ve used volumizing products in the past that gave me immediate results after blow drying my hair. I just used this on the ends when curling my hair and it didn’t weigh my hair down at all, so I guess that’s it. I couldn’t find the exact name of this product on the Sutra website and the closest thing I could find is a leave-in cream, so I’ll base the cost on that. I purchased the 30mL deluxe travel size, which retails for about $3.43.
Ciate | Everyday Vacation Hydrating Face Primer
I don’t experiment much with makeup. Ciate Being familiar with nail polishes, I was looking forward to trying this primer. The texture is a little watery and the color of the primer is completely clear, which actually surprised me as I was expecting a more creamy texture. The only thing I didn’t really like is the scent this product is named after. It has an overpowering fake coconut scent that I suppose will make you feel like you’re on a tropical vacation, but it just didn’t suit me. I received a 10mL deluxe sample that retails for $10.
Luna Magic | Soft Perfection Foundation Powder Medium
Again, it was a brand I had never heard of (yay!) and when I tried it for the first time Luna Magic When I applied the foundation, I was surprised at how soft it was on my skin, but when I actually applied it to my skin, I didn’t notice much of a difference. I still had some redness on my cheeks, which usually doesn’t go away even with the lowest coverage foundations. I wanted to enjoy this foundation more, but that didn’t happen. I received the deluxe sample which retails for $17.50.
What’s Up Beauty | Egyptian Queen Lipstick Ankh
I knew of Whats Up Nails’ great nail decals and knew they had branched out into the beauty sector, but the shipping to Canada just didn’t seem worth it to me, so I was excited to see the Whats Up Nails lipsticks. Whatsapp Beauty It’s in a glam bag! This is a buttery soft lipstick infused with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and silk oil. The color is a deep rose shade that looked dark orange to me, but I still liked it (pictured below). The embossing on the top of the lipstick faded after the first use, which is a shame, but it was a nice touch. I bought the full size, retail price is $23..
