what i bought
Did I mention that September’s Ipsy Bag will be available soon? Look at me keeping to my schedule! This bag was fall themed and had some lovely festive makeup items inside.
Nip + Fab | Salicylic Acid Fix Clay Mask
This is when the surprise element of a subscription box isn’t the best. Because at this point in my life, I don’t use clay masks much because I find them very drying. This 25% clay blend contains licorice for brightening and soothing properties, but I prefer something more hydrating to cleanse my skin. If this was 10 years ago, I probably would have tried this mask, but today I’m planning to gift this to my co-worker’s daughter. I received a deluxe size worth $2.82.
Appeal Cosmetics | Melon Crush Sugar Scrub
I love a good body scrub and this is the perfect scrub consistency. This smells like candy watermelon, which unfortunately I don’t like in beauty products (I only like real fruit). This scrub works perfectly as a shower product, but I use a little more to get it done faster. However, there is something a little strange about the reviews for this product. This 30mL tube is a full size body scrub. If this was sold as a hand scrub, I could justify the amount, but 30mL? This will last me about a week! Apparently, I received the full size of this. It’s $21 USD on the website..
SL Miss Glam | Large Fluffy Bird Blending Brush
I was really excited when I received this as it was my first time trying this Canadian brand. I’ve been following Stephanie for years but never got around to trying her brushes that everyone rave about, so I already feel from the bristles size and taper that this would be a good blending brush! Received full size worth 21.50 USD.
Pixie Beauty | Eye Define Waterline Tightline Black
I have this eyeliner and it’s amazing! It’s very precise and allows you to draw the waterline very smoothly without pushing too hard. The formula of the pencil is very smooth and adds a little bit of vibrancy to the eyes. I’m still not great at tightening my upper lash line (I still blink like crazy), but my lower lash line is easy with this. I received a full size worth 14 USD.
Pink Lips Cosmetics | Mini Eyeshadow Palette
I love eyeshadow palettes, but I wasn’t ready to buy another one this month. The thing is, the shades in this palette are really gorgeous, but 3 out of the 5 shades are matte, so I don’t use matte shadows that often, so I’m not sure if I’ll stick with this one. The size is perfect and very suitable for autumn, but this time it did not fit me. Received full size worth 16 USD.
Final verdict: Taking into account exchange rates, the September Ipsy Bag is worth $104.15 CDN, which is more than the $27.61 CDN (including shipping) that I bought it for. The Appeal Cosmetics scrub is ridiculously priced and I think it adds a lot to the value of this bag, but there were three other full size products in there that were actually pretty good value.
What did you think about this Ipsy Glam bag? Was it worth it?
