Benefit Pucker Up & Peace Out Lip Balm Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Last week, I suddenly decided to order a large amount of colored lip balm. I just wanted to see what was being released by brands that I normally don’t hear anything about. I’m pretty picky about balms. I tried all the Lisa Eldridge Velvets the other day and my lips were extremely unhappy, not because of the matte formula, but because it oozes moisture just by taking it off and putting it on. So, I apply a lot of Tatcha, Chanel, and Biossance in rotation and repeat. I came across this set from Benefit and liked the idea of having three balms in one box, albeit mini-sized. In fact, for testing purposes, the mini is sufficient.

I also think the packaging is a bit of a return to Benefit’s roots. I love it. Each balm is a full-sized mini of California Kissin Color Balm in shades of spice red, ruby, and berry.

Same order in swatches. The texture is more like a moisturizing lipstick than a balm and it actually feels too pigmented. If I wanted a moisturizing lipstick, I would have gotten it. I was expecting a more sheer finish from the balm, but while it looks juicy, it’s not that shiny. What I’ve discovered in using the new balm is that the word “balm” is a very moving celebration. However, if you don’t mind a lot of pigment in your lip balm, this is a great buy. Escentual sells it for £16.55 instead of £19.50. here.
