Chanel Beauty has launched four new eyeshadow palettes. Les 4 Ombres Byzantium Collection ($70 each). The palette has a beautiful gold surface inside a compact that mimics Gabrielle Chanel’s jewelry, giving them a truly special touch.

All four worked very well. The pigments are very good, finely milled, smooth to apply and easy to layer. Each quad has three regular eyeshadows and one glittery iridescent topper.

Out of the four palettes, there are two bright neutral variations that can be worn on a daily basis. The other two are on the trendier side with red and green, but both are too trendy for me to wear.

Les 4 Ombres Byzantium Parure Crystal

Les 4 Ombres Byzantium 328 Parure Crystal It’s really beautiful. It comes with two soft pink glitters, a satiny cool brown, and a shimmering pale blue topper. Overall it’s very soft on the eyes, but I like the soft wash effect.

Les 4 Ombres Byzantium Parure Venitienne

Other lightweight variations Les 4 Ombres Byzantium 318 Parure Venitienne It’s also really beautiful (my favorite of the four). It comes in warm shimmery gold, soft and warm peach shimmer, warm brown, and an ultra pale aqua shimmer topper. Colors appear much more distinct in person, but it’s very difficult to capture the nuances and colors of the eye on camera.

How it was worn:

Les 4 Ombres Bizans Parure Imperiale

reddish quad 308 Parure Imperiale It’s very warm and the pink looks great on my skin tone. It has yellow gold shine, warm coral red, deep red, and champagne silver sparkle/shine. For my skin tone, it was too red for my liking.I rarely paint my eyes red, but I can do it Tendresse no Les 4 Rouge eu et joue or Les 4 Hombres in Candour et Experience. But this new one didn’t suit my skin.

Les 4 Ombres Byzantium Parure Baroque

Les 4 Ombre Byzantium 338 Parure Baroque This is the trendiest design with a color that resembles a Christmas tree. Colors include polished brassy gold, red, shimmering smoky green, and silver glitter. The color combination didn’t work for me, but the @welovecoco Instagram account showed some really beautiful looks with shades of green applied.

For some reason, this color composition seemed like an odd combination for Chanel. Because I didn’t think Chanel would normally release something with this particular shade of green. However, a quick search revealed that I was wrong and that there have actually been quite a few bright green singles and palettes in the past.

Beautiful pigment, texture, and shine overall. I don’t know if it will suit everyone, but I really like the color scheme of Parure Venitienne, and Parure Her Crystal is a close second. I can’t see myself wearing any of her other two, but I think they’ll appeal to people who want something different and bold.

All four quads are limited edition.available at chanel.com While supplies last.

I was gifted Les 4 Ombres Bysance by Chanel for review.
