Haircut October 2023 Before After.jpg

Happy Friday, friends! She got her hair cut yesterday, so she feels like a completely new woman. I’ve been really late to doing chop chops – the last time I did it was about 8 months ago. I started getting headaches, and even when I put my hair up, my scalp got stuck and felt painful. It was time.

Anyway, I’m not ready for a big hairstyle change, I have a wonderful stylist named Shannon Devin.Known for her wavy and curly work, she cleaned up my layers and took off some of the length.

She requested that I come with my hair styled similar to how I normally style it. When I got to the salon, she asked me a few questions about my hair habits. I told her to wash it every few days, let it air dry, curl it a few times with her curling iron, and let her do the rest.

Then she dry cut my hair (meaning she didn’t wash it before cutting it). I could see how the layers of hair fell off. Once we had the look we were going for, she washed and conditioned my hair and then gave me some tweaks.

After blow-drying and adding curls with a curling iron, the result is beautiful, bouncy layers and curls.

What I liked about her is that she is very detail oriented. She got really close to my hair and she kept encouraging me to run her fingers through the cut along the way and asked me over and over again what I thought about her shape and weight.

She also asked so many great questions about how much time I have to spend styling and how my hair reacts to different products. It was definitely one of the most comprehensive and detailed haircuts I’ve ever received.

I have a feeling that this layer will grow well!

Yesterday morning I took some of my favorite perfumes outside and started spraying them into the air in my front yard. I don’t know why I thought of it in my head, but I am now convinced that when you experience the scents that spread out in the great outdoors, each scent smells different.

Did it have a richer aroma and become more rounded? Fuller. Like when I took Chanel Paris Ribera and Paris Paris outside, the top notes were more sparkly and bright than when I sprayed them in the bedroom.

There’s definitely something about scents being infinitely expansive and conveying all the individual notes.

Please try it with your favorite perfume. And you have to tell me all about it. lol!

If there are any fragrance enthusiasts out there who can explain the reasons behind this phenomenon, I’d love to hear it.

I hope your Friday is going well so far. Do you have any Halloween plans this weekend? I plan on taking Connor to a trunk-or-treat event at the dance studio on Saturday night.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Karen
