[unpaid/sample] What I love about this product is that it is extremely versatile. In fact, once you find the color that suits you, you’re ready for lip coating, lip blur, and cheek color. Convie is a relatively new brand from France, but they differ in that they seek input from their members when creating their products. You don’t need to be a member (you can also leave the hard work to someone else, the option I recommend!). So far, Velvet Lip has three shades and that’s it. All of the rest are currently in development and are undergoing sample testing for selected members to participate in the process.

Velvet’s sheen is contradictory, but it’s exciting to mix and match mediums to create multiples. Texture-wise, it uses natural silicone to create a peach-like feel, like a good lip velvet that won’t dry, and the finish is matte yet has a shine. It’s difficult to explain. It combines the sensuality of velvet with the lightness of luster. I think this is the best way I can say it. I swatched it both on my wrist and on my lips (I should wear more glasses as I ended up doing shocking work with either color without realizing it) so take a closer look at the vibrancy of these You can color your lips.

From bottom to top: Deep Cherry, Rose Flash, Barely There. If I had to stick to one thing, I would like the shape of the applicator to be a little better. I think it needs to be quite slender and have a curved shape element that hugs the lips. I was thinking (and as you can see, of course forgot) that I needed to reapply Deep Cherry with a lip brush.

Deep Cherry (how did I miss that corner?).

Rose Flash is my natural choice and is a very wearable color.

I couldn’t be more surprised at how well Barely There suits me. I would have passed this on the counter, but I still think it fits my tone perfectly. For lighter shades, if you don’t want to apply it all over, just add some balm to your lips, dab the color a few times, and blend it all over your lips to get a very nice, subtle blur. Effect lip. easy. Even easier is to take a dot of color from the wand onto your (clean) fingertips, dab it on your cheeks, and blend with a brush to finish. Convie (meaning guest, invitee) uses at least 90% natural ingredients. The Velvet Glosses cost £27 each, which is a good price for a multi-purpose product. Currently, there is a collaboration with French designer Léopoldine Château (choose this for a movie star’s name!) and his bag features a beautiful heart-shaped make-up.head velvet here.
