Whenever I get bitten by the hair color bug, and I mean the big bite that makes me want to make a big change, my mom always says, “You know what? Is highlighting alone effective? ” Spoiler alert: If you have dark hair like mine, highlights alone are unlikely to have the same effect as bleaching and coloring all your hair. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get gorgeous, look-altering results.And I think that may be exactly what it is. Lucy Hale I just did it.
You may remember that Hale did an amazing photo shoot with Only Natural Diamonds last month. For the occasion, she wore a buttery blonde wavy wig, a color she hadn’t seen in years. She’s been sporting a rich, dark brown hair color for quite some time, but it seems like wearing that wig has made her itching to go back to her lighter, brighter color. And perhaps, like me, Hale has someone who gently suggests that a drastic, potentially damaging, high-maintenance dye job might not always be the way to go.
Hale posted a super cute selfie to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, Dec. 17, but her dark chocolate hair is now gone. As the weather gets cooler, it looks like her hair color is changing too, thanks to her cool blonde highlights.
