I always experiment with my nails. I hate going to nail salons and I like to have salon quality nails. I tried it at home with a ger manicure. It glues to my nails and the nail stickers all hit my cuticles and nails. The more I do it on my nails, the more trouble I need to be. I’m a homemade nail oil to keep my cuticles and nails in good condition. If you are concerned about the health of your nails, a healthy cuticle is a must. After doing a lot of research into essential and carrier oils that help strengthen your nails, I have previously made nail strengthening serum, but this time I wanted to focus more on cuticle health. During all the nail glue, acetone, nail polish removers, and cold weather, my cuticles throbbed! You’re reading this so I’m sure you can be involved.
Why use DIY cuticle oil:
The purpose of cuticles is to protect the nails from bacteria and protect the nail bed. If the cuticle is cracked and dry, bacteria can enter the nail bed. For the cuticle to work efficiently, it needs to be soft and moisturized.
Cuticle oil also helps to look your nails. Applying plant-based oils can actually strengthen and rejuvenate your brittle nails.
Store-purchased cuticle oils seem like one of these flirty beauty products, but I agree. In fact, cuticle creams and oils purchased from many stores are intended to dissolve the cuticles. Yikes!! Have they ever had a manicure to remove your cuticles? Removing or cutting the cuticle is a very bad idea. Once they are removed, bacteria and bacteria can enter your nails. Plus, they tend to get rough as they return and grow. Cuticles should have purpose and be protected. According to the American Academy of Dermatologyit is not safe to allow nail technicians to cut your cuticle.
Making your own cuticle oil is simple, cost-effective and of higher quality than most cuticle oils on the market.

The most effective ingredients of cuticles:
The main problem with cuticles is that they are delicate and can easily dry and break. To improve that you must regularly moisturize. The carrier oil does this, so if you want to create your own cuticle oil, you can select the oil you have on hand and apply it to the cuticle regularly. In my recipes, certain oils and essential oils are known to particularly strengthen the nails and cuticles.
- Hazelnut oil Nail oil is quickly absorbed and is light and very moisturizing, making it perfect for nail oils. It is also antibacterial and has a high antioxidant content.
- Caster oil It contains essential fatty acids such as ricinoleic acid. Ricinoleic acid nourishes and protects the nail from external damage. Castor oil is not just about moisturizing. It is known to improve nail strength and growth. Additionally, castor oil has antibacterial and antibacterial properties that aid the nails when the cuticle is damaged.
- Sweet almond oil It is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is a light but effective oil when it comes to nourishing the skin.
- Vitamin E Oil It is known to Damage to reverse nails Improves yellowing of the nails. Plus, it is a powerful antioxidant that fights harmful free radicals.
- Rosemary oil It rotates blood circulation, which helps grow and healthy skin.
- Lemon oil A powerful antibacterial oil that helps to approve the yellow appearance.
- Lavender oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory oil that accelerates healing and protects against bacteria.

How to use DIY cuticle oil:
Simply apply a thin layer of oil to the cuticle and nail. Massage it on your nails and skin. If your cuticles are in poor shape or you are doing home nail polish, soak your nails in warm soapy water for 5 minutes to soften the cuticles, gently push them back with the cuticle pusher and apply oil. If you are polishing your nails or applying glue to your nails, apply DIY cuticle oil after your nail polish.
Substitution of components:
Instead of hazelnut oil, there are many nutrient oils that do the trick. Avocado oil, olive oil, jojoba oil and argan oil are all great options. Coconut oil is not a good option as it is solid at room temperature. Sorted coconut oil is not my favorite as it doesn’t moisturize as thoroughly as other options. You can also use 4 tablespoons with either hazelnut or sweet almonds. Anything you have on hand.
If you want to promote nail growth, I prefer to maintain caster oil. Vitamin E oil can be omitted. But it is a great antioxidant and a natural preservative.
I chose this particular essential oil blend. Because they all help improve nail strength and soothe dry skin. Other essential oils to consider are tea tree oils with strong antifungal properties or MyRRH essential oils known to be particularly beneficial when it comes to nail health. Used for DIY dry skin sticks.
When it comes to containers, there are many options. Roller bottles are great for cuticle oil, but I love using cuticle oil pens for easy application and nail polish bottles.
This DIY cuticle oil is a lifesaver for me during the winter. I tend to grab such dry skin around my nails, and in all my experiments I do it by the name of avoiding nail salons and nourishing nails and cuticles. Give yourself a crush and make this cuticle oil. It takes less than 5 minutes to create, but it only contains simple ingredients that are easy to find and simple. Use this homemade oil every day to get stronger nails! I’ll make some cuticle pens and leave them everywhere so I can make sure I use them frequently!
