This DIY lip mask recipe is a nearly identical raynage lip sleeping mask. However, this recipe only contains natural ingredients that feel good to slath dry lips! This homemade lip mask is a star when it comes to all lip care products. It will soon become one of my favorite lip care recipes. It’s full of fatty acids, natural waxes, natural oils and shea butter. With this DIY, your lip mask will naturally give you luscious lips!

My daughters have “scored” three pots of Rainye Lip Sleeping Masks for B Day and Christmas in the past few months. This lip balm is not on my approved beauty product list. But with two teenage girls, I choose to fight. My girl is so excited to have these lips masks and I have a bigger fight than a toxic lip balm roll! This gave me the opportunity to truly experience this viral mask for myself. I could feel the texture of the balm, smell it, feel it on my lips and decide how long it lasted.

I’ve looked into Pinterest and Google for DIY lip mask recipes. I made at least 5 DIY lip masks, but they all didn’t compare to the Laneige lip mask. I originally added lanolin, a great ingredient that soothes and moisturizes the skin, but it smells quite a bit. I ended up loving to use it at Birms, but I didn’t love it as a lip product. I tried using soy lecithin and it made a lovely lip product that I would likely share, but the balm didn’t resemble Laneige. Finally, after many attempts, I have landed in my opinion the perfect recipe!

My homemade lip mask recipe was difficult to formulate, but it’s easy to make!

What is Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask?

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a Korean lip product that has become viral. Basically, it is a commonly sold lip balm. It comes in a glass pot and looks like the typical balm we can easily make. However, it has a special shine than a DIY balm. It costs a whopping $24 for .70 oz. It is intended to be applied to your lips before going to bed before going to sleep. It has four different flavors, with different colours but not sweet taste and the balm does not give to any colour.

According to Laneige, it is “hydration, intensive care mask for lips. With nourishing berry fruit complex, murumur seeds and shea butter, it is a strong for a visibly smooth baby soft lips in AM. Provides lasting moisture and antioxidants overnight at the

Lip Mask went viral in 2022 in Tiktok thanks to Kate Moss sharing it in a “Beauty Secret” video about Vogue, but I’ve been listening ever since.

As fellow natural beauty enthusiasts and DIYers, you will probably notice a large amount of non-natural ingredients. Eeks! I’ve cleared these materials in EWG, but most of them get 1 EWG shows “limited data” Many ingredients have won 1, so the ju umpire went outside. The overall score for the Laneige Lip mask is 6 (10 is the worst) mainly due to scent and coloring.

How to remake a Laneige lip mask naturally:

I basically dumped the ingredient list and focused on textures. Using natural oils, butter and waxes is incredibly nourishing and effective when it comes to lips. The key with a really moist lip balm is that it’s the texture. It is important to have a thick enough texture to maintain power and lock moisture by creating substantial barriers.

Another tricky part of the lip mask remake is the shine. I already knew that caster oil was a sticky, thick and shiny oil, so I had to include it, but that wasn’t enough. During my investigation, I discovered a wax called Cera Bellina. Cera Bellina looks like white beeswax and acts to thicken the oil, but its extremely abilities turn the oil into gels and ointments. It creates a shiny balm! Din, Din, Din! It is the perfect ingredient to make overnight lip masks.

The Laneige lip mask is between a hard and soft balm. It looks like a solid balm, but you can push your fingers in without pushing too hard. This can be difficult to achieve. My balm may be a little more difficult than the original, but it does not lose its silky shine, and in some photos, when you “incite” the balm, you can do what it is You can see what I see I took a popsicle stick and rubbed it in the balm. Mix it to turn into a gorgeous, silky cream!

As for flavors, I decided to stick to the fun flavors the original lip mask offers. I also used a natural candy flavor that I think is much safer than the scent, just like DIY Bubblegum lip oil. This is not necessary and a good ole’ peppermint essential oil is a great way to taste this lip balm.

If you want to color your balm, we always recommend a small sliver of lipstick. You will not run into storage issues using lipstick and it takes a little time to give the balm a hint of color. Another option is mica powder if you have it on hand. It’s going a little long.

The original lip mask contains vitamin C, a common ingredient used for its antioxidant properties. Instead of incorporating vitamin C, I added vitamin E. Vitamin E not only provides free radical fighting action, but also adds another powerful antioxidant that helps keep your balm longer. Again, you will not encounter any vitamin E storage problems.

What you need to create a DIY lip mask:

Shopping materials:

material

  • 2 tsp. Caster oil
  • 2 tsp. Jojoba oil
  • 2 tsp. Shea butter
  • 1.5 tsp. Serra Berina
  • .5 tsp. Beeswax
  • .5 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
  • Flavors of 5-10 drops *Optional

tool

  • 1-1.5 oz jar or tin
  • Medium size pot
  • Glass Pyrex Measuring Cup
  • Mix the stick or spoon
  • Small spoons

Instructions

    1. Fill a medium sized pot with half the water.
    2. Place a glass Pyrex cup in the water.
    3. Turn the stove up.
    4. Add all the ingredients to the glass cup.
    5. It melts thoroughly.
    6. Mix well.
    7. Remove from the heat and pour into a container.
    8. Cool thoroughly before use.

Note

  • This recipe is just over a ounce.
  • If you choose to add flavors, be aware that each flavor has its own strength. For example, you can see that Marshmallow, Bubblegum, Cotton Candy, and Tutti Frutti all seem subtle. The cherry is the only fruit I have used and I think it is much stronger. If the balm is cold and used, you can always rimmel it, just like when you make it and add more flavor.
  • .5 I doubt it’s TSP or not. Beeswax is completely needed. Cera Bellina may be able to thicken the oil on its own, apply beeswax, and make two teaspoons. of Serra Verina. I haven’t experimented thoroughly with this ingredient yet. Beeswax also adds barrier protection to the balm, which is truly important for sleep lip masks.
  • Jojoba Oil is a very common ingredient and is a great carrier oil on hand, but feel free to use any odorless oil you already have, such as grapeseed oil or almond oil. It may not be the best if the olive oil has a strong scent.
  • I chose sea butter because it’s soft butter. Cocoa butter, mango butter and cocam butter were all very hard, making it difficult to scoop the texture of this balm.

Benefits of using an overnight lip treatment:

The advantages of using a lip mask are that it increases skin elasticity, smooths the lips, traps moisture and recovers moisture loss, soothes dry skin, and reduces the appearance of lip lines and wrinkles. Using a lip mask can help you combat the dryness that occurs during cold winter weather.

How to use a DIY lip mask:

Using a lip sleep mask is easy. Use it like a lip balm. If you are using it overnight, it is recommended to apply a thicker layer than usual. I use this DIY lip mask all day long. I love the way it looks on my lips and although there is a barrier to my lips during the winter, it’s a good idea to experience dry temperatures from the heater.

  1. Apply a generous amount to the entire mouth.
  2. I sleep in a lip mask.
  3. Remove the remaining mask in the morning.

*For best results, use a gentle exfoliating agent before applying the lip mask. You can make your own lip scrub using pinch of white or brown sugar and add a small amount of oil, such as coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, and grape seeds! You can also gently brush your lips with a toothbrush to remove dead, flake skin.

I kept coming up with balms that were too hard to silky. But there’s a lot of time and wasted balms, so I came up with the DIY sleeping lip mask you love! When using this highly protective lip balm, I can guarantee you will experience supple lips!

xx, Jennie
