Don’t you hate Instagram ads? I like to read reviews first, so it takes me a long time to go from seeing an ad to actually buying something. Vivia, I had been seeing these ads on Instagram for probably a year before I decided to buy. After watching and reading numerous reviews, I think most people were satisfied with the overall quality and appearance of their feet. I was specifically looking for a work shoe that would be comfortable to wear for 8-10 hours. I found some! In this post, he only introduces 3 pairs of Vivaias, but he actually currently owns 6 pairs.
Vivaia started in 2020 (oh, another pandemic brand), is headquartered in the UK, and appears to ship and manufacture shoes in China. There seems to be some conflicting information as to where the actual headquarters are located, but all I know is that the shoes are manufactured and shipped directly from a factory in China. The biggest selling point is that the shoes are made from recycled plastic bottles and use knitting technology, making them machine washable. I have wide feet, so the fact that the knit stretches to accommodate that was very interesting to me.
The first shoes I bought were Aria 5° Pointed Toe Ballet Flats (Nude) At size 36.5. It seemed like a good fit for my foot, but there wasn’t much room for my toes and I could clearly see my little toe was struggling at that point. It’s still incredibly comfortable though, and the support of the Artemesia insole has alleviated my high arches considerably. The shoes don’t weigh me down at all and I feel like I can move freely.
Aria 5° Pointed Toe Ballet Flat Dark Leopard
These dark leopard print shoes are the second pair of Arias I’ve purchased. I chose size 37 and found it to be more comfortable for my little finger. But I will admit that you can see quite a bit of space on the sides. Part of my foot (see first photo). However, since I stand all day at work, I prefer wearing a size 37 rather than a 36.5, and by the end of the day I feel like I’m about 1/2 a European size bigger.
Melody Square Toe Chunky Heel Black
I wanted to try this brand of heels, so I chose Melody because this style of heels was my favorite. Since this style had a square toe, I thought I would be able to go with my usual size 36.5, but I was right! I was scared that going to 37 would be too big, so I’m glad I trusted my instincts. These shoes have a little padding on the inside, making them very lightweight for walking and running. I felt like it needed a bit of a “break-in” in the toe area as the edges of the shoe’s finish felt like they were digging into the top of my foot after 3-4 hours. Still, I would buy another pair in a more neutral color. Please note that this heel is a block heel and cannot be machine washed.
Aria 5° Pointed Toe Ballet Shoes Black (Water Repellent)
I love Aria’s design, so once I found out that size 37 was more comfortable, I had to order this shoe in black since I often wear black shoes to work. Vancouver rains more than I expected, so I bought the waterproof version. Honestly, it was worth it because even when I stepped into puddles or got caught in the rain, no water seeped into my tights. She can easily wear these shoes for 8 hours, but walking on the pavement usually means she wears them for closer to 11 hours, so needless to say, they take a lot of wear and tear.
As for the shipping time to Canada, I’ve placed three orders so far and it took about two weeks for the items to arrive. Once in Vancouver, I used a local courier (I think it was UniUni) and received regular text updates when my package arrived and when it was delivered. I wish I had remembered to take a photo, but the shoe box packaging was all cardboard, recyclable, and compact.
I’ve been wearing my first set of Vivaias for a year without any issues, but I expect to eventually need to replace the Artemesia inserts, but I think that’s normal wear and tear that comes with shoes. Even though I work at a cute jewelry store, I wear work clothes to death. Because it’s a three-story building and I won’t take the elevator if I can avoid it. I have to try and get 10,000 steps per day if I can! I’m interested in their boots and kitten heels, so I’ll continue to buy them and definitely keep an eye out for more Arias! Even at regular price, it’s about $134 per pair, so I only buy shoes when there’s a promotion, but Vivaia often has promotions for multiple shoes, and I always pay attention to more than just the color. I usually buy it at that time.
