My review of Hourglass Unlock Soft Matte Lipstick
I’m all about glossy lips right now, but I love the satin cream version of the Unlocked Lipstick, so I was excited to try this new launch. If you want to check them out, read Hourglass Unlocked Satin Creme Lipstick Review & Swatches.
First of all, I would like to say that although this lipstick is called a soft matte, I think it is more of a full matte. This is not a negative at all, the formula is really nice, but let me just say that it’s more matte than soft matte.
The shade I’m trying is Tulip, which is a gorgeous nude. The texture is soft and smooth and glides easily onto the lips directly from the bullet. The shape of the lipstick itself makes it easy to apply.
I paired it with the shade Expose from one of the new lip liners (Hourglass Shape and Sculpt Lip Liner review and swatches) and it goes really well.
The Hourglass Unlocked Soft Matte Lipstick has a very nice finish and looks nice and smooth on the lips. It’s long-lasting, easy to layer and reapply, and won’t dry out your lips. I’m looking forward to trying more shades.
The formula itself is very versatile. You can also use liners to make very precise and bold statements. Alternatively, you can dab it on your lips and smudge it with your fingers for a soft, smudged look.
As usual with Hourglass, the packaging is really nice. The case features “Unlocked H” and a rabbit logo, and is part of the brand’s collection created to support the Non-Human Rights Project’s mission to unlock the cages of captive wild animals. This indicates that it is a department.
Hourglass donates 5% of net profits from all Unlocked products to non-human rights projects.
