Are you bored with your current manicure and want to remove it without going to the salon? We have you covered! This blog post provides a step-by-step guide on how to remove nail polish at home, saving you time and money.

There are three ways to safely remove dip nail polish at home. We like to call these methods the foil wrap method, baggy method, and nail spa method.

1. Foil wrap method

One of the most common ways to remove dip manicure is to wrap the reinforced part of the nail with a cotton ball soaked in acetone and foil. Start by gathering the necessary materials: 100% acetone, cotton balls, aluminum foil sheets, a cuticle pusher or nail polish stick, and a Nile file or buffer. First, cut your nails and file them to the desired length. Next, sand off the top coat. This step is important because it allows the acetone to penetrate the nail dip powder. Pour a small amount of 100% acetone solution onto a cotton ball or pad. Place a cotton ball soaked in acetone on the nail and secure with aluminum foil. Repeat this step for all nails. Let the acetone soak in to soften the dip layer on your nails. This may take 10-20 minutes. Then, remove the foil wrap from one nail at a time and use a cuticle pusher or nail polish stick to gently scrape off the softened powder. Repeat this step for all nails. Once all product has been removed, wash your nails with warm water and soap. Apply hand lotion and cuticle oil to moisturize your nails and cuticles.

2.Buggy method

Another popular way to remove dip powder nail polish at home is the baggie method. The key to this removal hack is warm water. Start by gathering the materials you’ll need: 100% acetone, a plastic bag, a medium-sized bowl, warm water, a cuticle pusher or nail polish stick, and a Nile file or buffer. First, cut your nails and file them to the desired length. Next, sand off the top coat. then fill Pour hot water into a medium bowl. Do not use boiling or boiling water with this method. Next, pour some 100% acetone into the plastic bag. Some people like to add a little coconut oil to the bag to prevent dryness of hands and nails. (Note that this dilutes the acetone and may slow the process a bit.) Remove the plastic bag and place it inside the bowl. Next, put your hands in a plastic bag and soak your nails for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove your hands and gently scrape off any remaining product. Repeat this step for all nails. Once all the dip powder has been removed, wash your nails with hot water and soap. Apply hand lotion and cuticle oil to moisturize your nails and cuticles.

3. Nail spa method

One of our favorite removal methods is the nail spa method. Start by gathering the essentials: 100% acetone, a nail spa in a removable kit, warm water, a cuticle pusher or nail polish stick, and a nail file and/or buffer. First, cut your nails and file them to the desired length. Next, remove the top coat with a file to break the nail polish seal. Then get ready for the nail spa. Separate the top and bottom compartments of the nail spa. Pour warm (not boiling) water into the bottom compartment and place the nail spa lid or top compartment back on top. Next, pour a small amount of 100% acetone solution into her five finger pocket. If you want to use a second nail her spa, repeat these steps. (After all, we all have two hands!) Optional step: Place a cotton ball in your finger pocket to help break down the dip powder. Wait 1-2 minutes to warm up the acetone with warm water. Keep in mind that warm acetone will help speed up the process. Next, insert your nails into your finger pockets. After about 7 to 10 minutes, Remove your hands and gently scrape off any remaining product. Repeat this step for all nails. Once all the dip powder has been removed, wash your nails with hot water and soap. Apply hand lotion and cuticle oil to moisturize your nails and cuticles.
