Facebook shows you more family, relatives, and your local community. Instagram shows more professional videos and photo shoots. But on TikTok, you can feel more relaxed without editing.
So the ban really shook people up. However, the ban only affected people in America, so other countries continued to use the app. According to YouTuber Popular Party, some influencers started revealing deep, dark secrets on the last day of the ban. The federal ban has left the platform dark for 170 million Americans. When viewers tried to access the app, they were met with a message that it was no longer available in the United States.
Americans were sad about the app’s disappearance, but it’s even more upsetting to see editing apps Capcut and Lemon8 also unavailable. According to Pbs.org, the ordinance gave the opportunity to sell the app by Sunday, January 19th. It was stated that Trump wanted 50% ownership of TikTok.
One of the problems was that Tiktok was using its platform in the US without giving any benefit to the US. Another issue was that “the ordinance had to curtail the platform’s relationships with its U.S. operations due to national security concerns posed by the app’s Chinese roots,” Pbs.org reported.
The app was unavailable to Americans for 14 hours. For a long 14 hours, I tried to find another app to boost my dopamine levels. And then the dark light turned bright and the app was returned to us. Americans were surprised and confused, but filled with joy at getting their apps back.
Viewers felt their first amendment rights were violated. Many people use this app to share their opinions, rant, and inform others about various topics. Tiktok gave music artists a platform to go viral, served as an educational tool, and provided an outlet for fun and relaxation. We all expect longevity within this app.
