“I grew up in a 100-person town in the countryside of Ohio. The nearest mall was an hour away, but when I was 13 my dad won a trip to New York City. He was allowed to bring one and he chose me. From the moment we got in our first taxi, I was engrossed in the city. I was scouted on that trip, but from the countryside of Ohio, my dad said, “I’m not going crazy.” I was scouted again at a Cincinnati coffee shop. I signed up for an old school modeling school that taught me things like how to put on makeup. When I did my first job, it was really exciting, the girl who ran the project offered to connect me to people. She sent me to New York to meet her agency. Here I model and work on brands like Fenty Beauty, Calvin Klein, Skims, Aerie and more. Do you see yourself as a three-storey building? Just thinking about it makes me emotional. Because I’m a 13-year-old who’s been in town for the first time and thinking about what she’d think if she saw herself.
At the end of the day, it is important to continue saying I am a curve model, but to emphasize that I am still in the industry and representing curved women. I’ve never seen it grow. I remember Google the curved model to see a girl who looked like me, but I never found it. By the way, I don’t mind being called “plus size.” I was always strong and thick. When I came to New York, I asked my agent about my “weight gain story.” I was always this size so it really dumped me. That’s true for many women. There’s not necessarily something that “occurred.” We are women. We are curved. that’s it. So how did you get here? Well, I was just born. [Laughs]
I have a lot of sets so I had to learn to take care of my skin. This means that because you have eczema and psoriasis, you don’t use many active ingredients or really intense ingredients. That said, one of the best parts about being a model is that you can try out all kinds of products. Every makeup artist pledges a variety of things. La Roche Posai’s Cicaplast Balm. It changed the game for me. It’s so thick and hydrating that I pound it overnight when my skin gets unhappy and by the morning the texture of my skin gets much better.
I’ll always come back Bioderma’s micellar water I will never leave the movie to take off my makeup. My Eye Makeup Remover – Two drugs From Lancome – a bit oily. It’s something you grab when you wear heavy eye makeup at work, but it’s also gentle. Ocean Cleanser from OSEA It’s really gentle – and it smells really good.
My aesthetician – I understand Gosia in Williamsburg Beauty Spa Every two months, I recommended to use it Biojuve’s living biome serum There are live probiotics so once a week it helps with rosacea. I’ll follow up on it Activates the fogis supposed to “activate” the serum. and Weredaskin Food Light It’s my go-to moisturizer all year round. It always leaves me a beautiful base for makeup.
To be honest, I don’t wear sunscreen every day. I had a hard time finding something that wouldn’t break me. But if I’m going outside for more than 20 minutes, I like it SuperGoop! ‘All Face SPF 50. I love how it really goes on and goes on smoothly.
I recently discovered the body cleanser Xeracalm AD Cleansing Oil from Avène. It feels like a lot of the body wash keeps the skin dry, but this is not peeling off at all. And I use Eucerin’s Eczema Relief Cream Every morning and at night, but especially when there is a photo shoot. It leaves this really beautiful glow on my skin, but it doesn’t look shiny either. Ah, and Aquafall healing ointment? I use it all: my lips, my hands, my elbows. If my face is very dry, I sometimes use slug little by little.
By the way, I’m a self-taught every two weeks. I shoot summer campaigns in the winter, so I’ll be doing a little more often in the winter. I’ve always been a sunburn professional. My favorite is St. Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse. It gradually fades, it’s great.
As for tools, I love it Theraface. Used to prepare for filming. There are many attachments, but my favorite is the cold ring. I use a lot of ice on my face – sometimes I soak my head in a bowl of water with a bundle of ice – but if I have enough time I’ll grab it or my Gua Sha Cryostick. Theraface has a hot ring that feels really good on my masher and tends to hold a lot of tension. And I love it Omnilux Contour Red Light Mask so. I try to use it for 10 minutes every night and it is very useful for my rosacea. Even if you have a windburn, if you use it before going to bed, it will disappear by the next day.
On normal days, I don’t wear makeup. I like to breathe my skin and take a break from all my makeup at work. When I wear something on my break, I curl my eyelashes and apply lip gloss and mascara. However, I struggle with the eyes of the raccoon, so I wear only tube mascara. When I first discovered it, I literally wanted to cry. Karirei and NO7 Make something amazing. Caliray is a bit thicker so I use one for more glamour looks, but the NO7 is not dramatic, so the cast is better. It also helps to color your lashes every two weeks. I didn’t think I’d do it myself, but I had my makeup artist say it was really easy and correct. It takes 5 minutes. And Fenty Beauty creates my favorite gloss Gloss bomb in fu $$ y. The shade isn’t too far from my actual lip colour. And I never want to get lost in the distance. Oh, and for a little extra touch, I love it Mac liner in Strip down. It’s a classic from the 90s.
If I’m putting on a little more makeup for casting, I NARS Soft Mat Concealer. It blends really well and gives me good coverage. I have several different shades, as I like to mix them together to make them really suit my skin. Next, use NARS Laguna Bronzing Cream in Laguna 02 On the eyelids. I picked up this from another makeup artist: if your eyelids are a little darker than under your eyes, you will look like you don’t have a dark circle. My brow tails don’t grow as thick as I want, so I fill them up KOSAS BROW POP NANO PENCIL in Medium brown. Then I touch a little Merit highlighter in Bouncetoo. It’s a bit pink and not too sparkly. Because of the blush, I love it Nudestix’s blush stick in Naked backCool nude that looks very natural. And I like to enter all the facial products and lipsticks Vueset Container. It’s very easy to move to a cast with two containers, smaller than an index card, than packing one bottle.
Before my hair, I’ll go David Bren in Parta For cutting. But I don’t dye it – Anamore. I went through high school and dyed the bottom half of my head in all sorts of colours. The bottom said yes to dye it. The top was to make my father happy. But pink, blue, purple… you gave it a name, I had it. That was enough for a lifetime. [Laughs]
I wash my hair almost every day, but if I didn’t set it all the time, I would wash it twice a week. I love it Pacific Salty Wave Shampoo and conditioner. They are my secret discoveries. Each bottle costs only $10. They don’t have sulfates or parabens, but the shampoo is still swirling. This is important to me. And the salty taste gives my hair great shape and volume. For styling, Redken’s Max Hold It’s the best. The nozzle blows into the triangular mist, so I love the nozzle so it’s not that aggressive. And I really love the edges of my hair Badger herb oil. It smells like almonds, which honestly probably really gets me.
On the front of the fragrance, I love the citrus scent. Ultimately, I want something that goes well with my skin and doesn’t stand out very well. I recently discovered it Luna Maris From Diptyque. It is supposed to remind you of the moonlight – it is inspired by the moon that reflects the ocean – and I think it is. It comes with pink peppercorn, aroma and rock rose. I’m very conservative in spending, but it was worth splurge. The same can be said for Santa Maria Novela Cinquanta. I bought it in Florence last November. It is intended to be a fusion of Japanese and Italian culture, so bergamot, grapefruit and orange flowers nodded to Florence and green tea as if to Kyoto. I actually found the brand through Tiktok – everyone was posting about it in Florence – that was a real introduction to my first high-end fragrance. Is it insane that they have been around since 1221-804? That’s crazy. ”
