In this episode, we talk to Laura Coleman, an amazing model, mom, and knitter extraordinaire.
I met Laura at a panel discussion about beauty standards and realized we shared many of the same beliefs about the pressure on women to look a certain way. . Laura talked about how she stopped worrying about how she looked and started accepting what she saw in the mirror.
In the podcast, Laura and I talk about how she learned to stop overthinking things and go with the flow. This has made her life much less stressful. She’s talking about avoiding the constant life advice given on social media and doing what makes sense for you (i.e. if your body is telling you that you need a comfortable lie down, don’t push yourself too hard). There is no need to train on) a sofa with a cup).
Laura also talks about the big role knitting plays in her life, the beauty products that make her happiest, coming to terms with stretch marks, and tells us the secret behind her incredible necklace. Ta.
I love Laura. She’s a warm, kind, down-to-earth soul who sometimes takes life a little less seriously and makes me feel like I need to calm down (which is definitely what I need!) with this frankness Enjoy the beauty xx
