Monday Night (11/20) Hip-hop artist Laura Brooke, New York celebrity restaurant Say Less, and hip-hop artist Breezy team up to host a Thanksgiving dinner at Brooklyn’s Children of Promise on Monday night. For context, Children of Promise is a community-centered organization that partners with children and families affected by mass incarceration to remove the stigma and heal the trauma that plagues Black and brown communities. They are the only agency in New York City that seamlessly provides access to therapeutic empowerment services and youth development under one roof.
In addition to serving food, Laura also interacted with the children, watched them participate in a dance competition, and answered several questions from the youth. Additionally, she talked about dealing with her father’s incarceration and gave words of wisdom to the young people with her mother by her side.
