So…what is Monday’s vote?
Great question! Despite the name, it’s not an actual vote, like a little clicky button.This is just a list of more or less random questions that I have posted on this blog every Monday morning for the past thousand years (since 2007).
1. The grossest Halloween candy?
So many to choose from, haha! Smarties, Swedish Fish, Bits O’ Honey, Good and Plenty, Hot Tamales, anything to do with licorice…as a kid, I would pull them all out of my candy stash right away. So vile!
2. Turtleneck or tights?
I’ll bring tights. I don’t like anything that wraps around my neck unless I can take it off right away! Is it just me or do turtlenecks always feel a little itchy?
3. Do you like trying paper perfume samples that appear in magazines or catalogs?
Even though these samples will never smell like the perfume in the bottle, I get very excited when I smell them or put them on my wrist. Maybe it’s because I grew up reading a lot of magazines and was always excited to find samples between the pages. It still somehow pleases me.
4. What is your core memory of Halloween as a child?
I always went trick-or-treating with the neighborhood kids, and one year I went with a girl named Peachy. We went to a seemingly ordinary house with a light on and knocked on the door. Then a loud and frightening scream was heard from inside. I remember running for our lives down the road and onto the sidewalk. Apparently someone got excited by scaring the kids that night.
5. What are you currently marathoning?
I started the new BBC “Great Expectations” and it’s so weird! But I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Oh, and I also watched the David Beckham documentary series on Netflix over the weekend. I don’t know anything about soccer, or football, but it was still compelling enough for me to watch the whole thing.
Hello and happy, happy Monday, friends. As I walked Connor to school this morning, I noticed that many of the trees in our neighborhood were starting to change color. And now, when I walk outside, I constantly hear the leaves crunching under my feet. There’s something magical about the time in between. I don’t think I’ve noticed it before, but it feels very quiet and cozy. i really love it.
