You may have seen the marketing of a new product. NYX Cosmetics Duck Plump High Pigment Lip Gloss And I’ll tell you now, it had nothing to do with my decision to pick them up. If you haven’t seen anything, many men thought they could use this product to plump up their genitals. I don’t know where this marketing idea came from, as literal humor like this tends to come across as a bit cheesy, but hey, it got everyone talking!
Available in 18 colors (although the Canadian and US websites only list 9), this lip gloss is pigmented, shiny, and infused with spicy ginger to keep you going. You can expect your lips to become plumper. And why is it called “duck” plump? I don’t know when this trend started, but I think for a while every girl’s selfie pose included pursed lips and looking like a duck. In fact, I still see this from time to time…hasn’t it been 20 years since this trend started? All the old ones are coming back so I wouldn’t be surprised.
These sturdy shaped tubes come with what appears to be a mega-do-foot applicator. I don’t necessarily have narrow lips, but the applicator is filled with so much product that I have to wipe off almost half of my lips as it comes out. As promised, the pigmentation is intense and it doesn’t stay super shiny for more than an hour, but the color that remains is very nice.
Is it plump? Let me just say that NYX didn’t mess with anything. Because I have never in my life applied anything that burns so intensely on my lips or any part of my body. Oh my God!First of all, although it is listed as ginger extract in the ingredient list, the ingredients are highly concentrated. chili pepper Fruit extract extracted from chili peppers. I think you can feel the heat from there!
As for the Spice comparison, I’ve tried all levels of Too Faced Lip Injection and Dewop Lip Venom, which are probably two of the most iconic lip plumping products, but the full amount of Use and apply to apply Duck Plump. (This is what I did the first time I tried it) is about 10 times more intense. Mainly because it stays spicy on my lips for about an hour. The pain will start to go away, but be aware that you may still feel a stinging sensation several hours after application.

I’ve been wearing Mauve Out My Way a little more. I like the nude/brown look it gives me, so both are very wearable every day and that’s what I was looking for. Gone are the days of hot pinks and reds for Jayne! The main reason for that is because I’m so worried about the colors moving and shifting and messing up my lips. . If it’s a matte formula, I know it won’t move once it sets, so I don’t have to worry about that much.
Final verdict: I love the shade I chose, but now that I’ve experienced this gloss, I don’t think I need to get any more. I don’t necessarily use it all the time because some days I don’t want my lips to burn. So NYX has been very honest about what this product does and they have delivered the product. I’m sure the claim that your lips get bigger with continued use is true, as your lips are inflamed for literally hours after every use, but by using less product you can reduce the spicy sensation. can be relieved.
