This has talent. Affiliate links.

It’s been six months since my last foundation review, and I have to say that in my early 40s the only makeup I want to consistently try is the foundation as it feels like an extension of my skincare routine. If anything, better skin means I can get away with a lower coverage and maintenance base! Last year I was finally selected for a review of makeup products through Butterly (I found that when I hit it in my mid-30s, the make-up campaign was far away and less in between). Urban Decay Face Bond Foundation.

It feels like it’s been a while since Urban Decay released the foundation. The final foundation I tried out from the brand was all night games like face paint. It’s still one of the highest coverage foundations I’ve ever applied to my face and it really made my skin look perfect, but it’s not the level of coverage I usually feel comfortable with now that I’m older.

Facebond is intended to be the basis of all-in-one serum, blurry and self-setting with medium-light coverage, leaving skin with a matte, natural finish. This certainly contrasts with the All Nighter Foundation!

It covers all skin types, contains 3% niacinamide, which can be used for long periods of time to slowly improve the texture of your skin (say in 4 weeks). I’m really not sure how effective the skincare ingredients are in foundations, but it’s obviously not harmful to have niacinamide in the top half of the ingredients list.

What’s most interesting about this foundation was the “self-setting” aspect when it dries to finishes like waterproofing, sweat resistance, and transfer-proof power! I don’t like the sticky or sticky feeling to my skin during the day, so I’m always equipped with powder.

Check the nozzle! Some people don’t like it, but I love this kind of precision nozzle because I’ve had clothing calamities in the past with pumps and dropper tubes. The foundation doesn’t come out of clothing easily and seems to happen whenever I wear white/beige! I generally liked how compact the packaging was, as it fits well in acrylic divider drawers.

I’m very happy that I was waiting for a full review at first. At first, I thought this was all I could reach for. I used it a lot in the summer, but haven’t since.

In the photo above, I wear a foundation on a shady 14 Golden Medium, but I can see that I did an ok job of covering the redness around my nose. The good thing is that this ceremony didn’t break down much at the end of the day.

The 24-hour wear claim is never completely tested because it is not my life. I’m not saying that the finish was completely perfect at the end of the workday, but I definitely felt there was a certain level of oil control.

And since this is the basis of blushing, the finish is pretty matte and still good, but not necessarily the finish.

Final Verdict: This is my summer foundation where everything feels sticky. The fast and easy blending and no need for a powder set is a huge plus! I have normal/dry skin, so one thing I have to do is that my dry patches are properly hydrated or this foundation is clinging to the area around my nose. Otherwise, once I start to go up to my 20s, I will switch to this foundation, but for now I will stick to liquids and thick formulation stick foundations!
