what i bought

I’ve always been enthusiastic Euphoria As an Asian-owned and founded brand, I don’t usually get a chance to feature a lot of makeup brands over the past few months, so it seemed like the perfect brand to feature on #LunarApril. There are many Asian skin care brands, but what’s interesting about Euphoria is that their premise is “makeup that’s safe even when you sleep”!

Founded in 2021 by Fiona Ko Chan, Euphoria rose to social media fame on TikTok for its color-changing cheek oil. It’s green in the packaging, but when you apply it to your cheeks it turns a nice pink color, so you can see why. Fiona then appeared on Shark Tank because it would make the perfect viral makeup video. I was obsessed with this show and discovered this brand there (see her pitch) here)! I love watching the pitch and watching the Sharks battle. I watched Fiona demo her BYO Blush, and she told me that she used to work in the tech industry and had to travel to Asia with bad air pollution for her job. I heard the story. She often fell asleep with her makeup on, and her skin took its toll, so she wanted to develop cosmetics that wouldn’t damage her skin when she slept, but more importantly, They wanted cosmetics that functioned like skin care. She went to Korea and Euphoria was born because even though Euphoria is an American company, all of their makeup products are made in Korea.

The first product Fiona created was BYO Blush. Because the product that made me take the plunge and buy it was when Euphoria announced it. Date Night Skin Tint Serum Foundation ($66 USD) Foundation is one of the things I want to try, and at a luxurious price of $66, I’m one of those people who think of foundation as a skin care product, so I’d rather spend money on foundation than on any other makeup product. Masu.

The concept of “makeup like skincare” isn’t new, but after using Euphoria almost daily for several months, I found that both the packaging and formula were better than other “clean beauty brands” I’ve tried in the past. I also found it to be excellent. .

It’s a coverage-enhancing serum-like foundation made with 68% skincare active ingredients and a patented tannin complex that helps the foundation melt into the skin for a smoother finish and reduce sebum levels. controls, so you can’t stop using this foundation until you say it!

It says you can sleep in it, but I don’t really like doing that, but it would be nice to use it as a base for my next time-zone trip to Paris! Currently there are only 15 colors, so it’s not very comprehensive at the moment, but we hope that more colors will come out over time, but these colors are “flexible” and can be used up and down. states that it can cover several colors.

Below is everything from bare face to full face! I have tried fingers, brushes and beauty sponges to apply this foundation and I have to say that fingers and brushes are my preferred method, which is unusual for me as I live for beauty sponges. I don’t get it. I actually only use half a pump on my face as a little goes a long way.

This foundation had more coverage than I expected! When I first used it, I just applied a few dots and blended it out with my fingers, and it was light and had medium coverage. The texture is something between a serum and ink, and it feels like you’re not applying anything to your skin. It also has a very subtle dewy finish, so if you’re like me and like your skin to feel completely dry when you just put on makeup, you can avoid using powder. When it comes to skin care, I like my skin to be a little moisturized and dewy!

When I decided to apply my foundation using Juno & Co.’s Velvet Sponge, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly this foundation provided such high coverage. First, I only needed half a pump to cover my entire face and neck area. I found it a little easier to blend out the inky serum texture using a brush. I’ll admit that at first I didn’t like how much coverage it had on my skin, but as the days go by, it feels better and better. In fact, at the end of the day, it starts to look less like “plastic” and more like real skin, which is insane. On days when you just want to cover redness, you can apply it with your fingers and your skin will be beautiful!

I also found that even after 12 hours my foundation was not perfect but not bad at all. Also, my face didn’t get extremely oily around my nose, forehead, and chin, and as the days went on, the foundation started to look like it was part of my skin. Even with the setting powder, I was able to easily use the BYO Blush on top and blend it out without disturbing the “lower layer”.

The photo above was taken with my iPhone 14 Pro in front of a window, so you can see how this foundation looks with a ring light + DSLR and natural light. It’s incredibly long-lasting and definitely one of the most perfect and comfortable foundations I’ve worn in a long time. As I get older, I want to be able to apply makeup that matches the wrinkles on my skin, and I think this foundation will be one of those products!

Final verdict: Ever since I got this foundation in November, I’ve been applying it literally every day, both to work and on holidays, just to hide my blemishes. I love everything about it, from the frosted glass packaging to the deep purple cap. I love the incredibly lightweight formula that goes from light to high coverage. And the most magical thing for me is that the longer I wear this foundation, the better it looks. Imagine how beautiful I look when I come back from a 10 hour flight. As a Canadian, I paid a pretty penny for this foundation, but it’s better than many foundations I’ve tried, and I have a feeling I’ll be empty by the end of this year.
