A little mascara trivia. Mascara dates back to 3400 BC with the ancient Egyptians. They made an applicator out of bone and ivory and mixed it with kohl, crocodile dung (we know it’s unclean!), water, and honey. Both men and women wore mascara during this period. It wasn’t until 1872 that Eugene Rimmel created the first packaged cosmetic mascara. It was Vaseline mixed with coal powder. (We have come a long way!)
