It’s not officially fall yet, but school starts, Starbucks PSLs, and the changing colors of the leaves make it feel like summer is truly over. I feel like my summer has been mostly good, even though I spent a lot of time last month dealing with crap at work, but I think the worst is over. I’m going to Paris (my first time in Europe!) for work in October, and I’m really scared of flying, so I’m looking forward to fall, both in good and scary ways. It’s been almost 30 years since I’ve been on a plane for more than 6 hours, and my fear is that I might get sick, have a headache, or feel nauseous. My husband will be joining me, but I’m still planning on flying alone since we’ll be meeting in Paris, which is really freaking me out, but we’ll have time to strategize together how to handle the nerves. It will probably include Atavin, the Calm app, some breathing exercises, and lots of movies.
I wanted to do something abstract with my first fall-themed nail set, so I settled on these very abstract trees. I liked the color combination of these polishes, and then I liked the “roundness” of the “leaves,” so instead of drawing thin little branches or tree trunks, I chose simple brown dots that I thought would match the overall atmosphere. It has expanded. Manicure details.
