I feel like my pile of lip products keeps rotating from oils to lipsticks to thick AF balms. Some days my lips are so hard that a matte liquid lip color feels as comfortable as sweatpants, and other days I feel like I’m being eaten alive by the dryness. My lips have been super dry for the past two weeks, so I went through my lip stash and rediscovered it. Rano!
During a heated moment a few years ago, all we could talk about was Lanolips. This Australian company that uses lanolin sources its lanolin from sheep from Australian farmers. Known for its deep moisturizing properties, lanolin mimics the skin’s own oils, allowing for healing and burn treatment. I know that lanolin can be an allergen for some people, but luckily I’m able to use these lip products without my lips becoming swollen. Some people may be sensitive so I just wanted to get that out.

Multi-purpose super balm*
For some reason, I didn’t take a product photo of the multipurpose Super Balm, but the light pink tube is Lano’s more iconic product that can be used anywhere you need some serious hydration. The consistency of this balm is so incredibly thick that it takes a while to even squeeze out of the tube. Warm the product between your fingers before applying it to your lips or skin. This product is said to hold 200% of its weight in water, so if you want to use it as a night mask, you can wake up with baby lips.
Final verdict: I enjoy both products, but I don’t use them all the time because they are both very thick, thick balms and my lips don’t always need the intense moisture these products provide. I’d like to add that I’ve been reaching for them lately, with this dry weather!
Lanolips can be found at www.lanolips.com. Unfortunately, Lano is no longer carried by Sephora, but Sephora’s website does ship to Canada.
