So I started going to therapy regularly to help me cope with work. I had a productive therapy session today and made some progress in how to process my negative thoughts, giving me hope for the future. I went for my first session last August and was nervous, but it was helpful and I was able to find a therapist I liked on my first try. I went for another session in October to overcome some anxiety about my flight to Paris, but didn’t feel too comfortable booking her again until last month when work things started escalating. I wasn’t thinking about it. After seeing her for two weeks in a row, I think I would like someone outside of my close circle to check on me and have a regular place where I can start over with a clean slate.
It was a really big decision for me to start going to therapy, but now that mental health is being discussed so openly, I didn’t feel shy about talking about my mental health. In Asian cultures, this isn’t something that’s openly discussed, and I appreciate that I was raised with a more demanding attitude in general, but even before the 2019 pandemic, I started experiencing burnout at work. I started to feel like I was, and last year, after working multiple jobs, when something unpleasant happened, I realized that I had to either accept certain things or walk away. I’m in the middle stage of acceptance right now, focusing on what I do best (working with clients) and not worrying about what anyone above or below thinks. I know I’m good at what I do and I’m going to make it my own!

As for this color, I’m a big fan of magenta, but I don’t like it to be pearly like this, so sadly I’m going to donate this one to a friend. The OPI Nail Envy series of nail polishes is amazing because they created a classic with this nail hardening formula. I think Alpine Snow is the shade I use the most.
