Today is the first time I’ve drawn my nails in almost a month! They kept breaking down and then I was on vacation and decided to give them a little break. Honestly, I also don’t feel like beauty. I, like many Canadians, are very upset about what’s going on in the US and this time I felt bad, unlike his first elected. If our economy starts to shrink slowly, no one is doing the right thing. It’s all very depressing and my ultimate dystopian nightmare is if this actually led to a war between the US and Canada! For example, how crazy is it in the 21st century? ! This means that for now we are literally in history books, as the trade war has already begun (not provoked).
All of this is happening and thinking about how it affects us as Canadians, beauty blogs suddenly feel… so small. I didn’t feel this way when we were all stuck at home during the pandemic. I really felt that blogging is an escape and a place to write a diary. Yes, I was afraid, but I definitely wasn’t afraid of nuclear war. At the moment, I don’t know what I’m going to do in this area. Is that an escape where everything goes well? Or is that a place where I can get mad? I really don’t know because I don’t really have any control over anything. We are this pawn of meaningless political monopoly, so maybe I should be happy for now.
With that note – try riding your nails.
This month’s theme is “green”/ “spring.” I started with the essence of “Island Hopping.” This is a stunning, juicy teal and layered it with one of my favorite sparkly polishes, the silk “Paraiba.” It has a teal base so you can use it on its own as before, but it also works as a one-coat topper.
I hope everyone has a good week, but there’s a special love for all the Canadians out there and Americans against the trade war <3
