The formula is said to provide a “12-hour” wearable matte finish with a comfortable fit and “transfer resistance.” Compared to the same brand’s Velvet Matte Lip Pencil from years ago, I think it’s more durable as even the lighter shades last longer, but I can’t stand 12 hours of use (which is amazing) ).
The formula features a soft-setting process, with an initial texture that’s more emollient and creamy and easier to maneuver around the curves of your lips, but with a lighter, tacky finish that’s less transfer-prone. It was comfortable because it remained flexible. wear. Most of the shades lasted for 5-6 hours and some of the deeper shades lasted for more than 6 hours. The formula didn’t dry out even after long periods of wear.
The shades are pigmented in a single layer and I found them very easy to use to get a beautiful, even line of color along the edges of the lips. It also hardly accentuated lip lines or lip texture, resulting in a more forgiving and flattering finish.
