K Glasses Marnie Marie 2.jpg

If you had asked me this time last week about the biggest recent change in my life, I would have said that I got new glasses (lol)!

To be honest, I never expected that a week later I would be walking my energetic Australian Shepherd wearing the same glasses. Seriously, life is so crazy.

Say hello to our newest family member, Marnie! Her full name is Marnie Marie. 🙂 Of course we give our dog daughter a middle name.

Anyway, I’ve been needing new glasses for a while. The last time I bought new shoes was in his 2020, before the pandemic. At the time, I bought a fancy pink Kate Spade frame. I liked the way it looked in the pictures, but I didn’t like wearing it because of the thick frame. Every time I looked to the side, I could see the frame and it was very distracting. He rarely wears them, so instead he has super old glasses made in 2018 that he’s been wearing for four years now. know.

As a side note, have you ever bought new glasses and barely touched them? I’m sure this happens often.

When I went to the optometrist for an eye exam a few weeks ago, these were the last shoes I tried on, I kid you not, about 50 pairs.

What was a little strange to me was that trying out different colors and styles of frames felt oddly high-stakes. I think I was so used to seeing myself a certain way that the thought of stepping so far outside of my style comfort zone scared me.

I didn’t want something exactly like what I was already wearing, but I also didn’t feel like committing to a completely different style. I don’t know, maybe this is something that happens as you get older? You get so used to seeing yourself a certain way that before you know it, you’ve been wearing the same hairstyle for 30 years.

I think this pair is different enough due to its shape and slightly edgy vibe, but still has hints of the pink tortoiseshell pair I previously favored.

oh! Something different. The lens! I’ve been in denial about my myopia for so long that I can’t believe I’m saying this out loud, but these are progressive lenses. In such cases, you need glasses that are similar to old-fashioned bifocals, but without the harsh lines and that allow you to see both near and far. Even if it took me a while to accept it, I have to say this is very convenient as I no longer have to take my glasses off so often to look at my phone or carry multiple glasses with me everywhere I go. It won’t.

It’s a whole new world!

Either way, it’s one of the many new things happening these days.

Karen
