I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! A new year, a new you, new ads for weight loss companies, new health habits that are impossible to follow… If you’re like me, you want to use the new year to refresh your habits while remaining realistic.I actually I want to keep my New Year’s resolutions! So I’ve added a few steps to my beauty routine checklist to boost my health and skincare habits without pushing too far out of my comfort zone.

apply sunscreen every day

Like me, you’ve probably heard this before, but it’s really important to wear sunscreen every day, even in the winter. As Jane always says, sunscreen is the most powerful anti-aging habit you can have. Luckily for me (and hopefully you too!) most of our foundations contain SPF, so it’s not that difficult to incorporate this step into your New Year’s skincare ritual. Simply blend Dream Tint Tinted Moisturizer and apply a dab of PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation on top. You can check this resolution from the list.

drink more water

During the week I drink a lot of water, but on the weekends I somehow turn into a camel who drinks two glasses of water a day, and I can’t understand why my lips are chapped. To drink more water on the weekends, I bought a new reusable water bottle to carry with me. After all, I carry my phone from room to room. Why not add a bottle of water to that? Moisturizing from within is the most basic part of skin care for dry skin.

clean makeup brushes

I’m really bad at washing makeup brushes. I know I need to wash it once a week, but I usually end up washing it once a quarter and that sucks. So, starting in the new year, I’m going to use Sunday afternoon TV time as the perfect opportunity to wash my makeup brushes. Whether you wash in a bowl of soapy water or in the bathroom sink, putting on your favorite show will make the process more enjoyable. Plus, your skin will thank you!

Add supplements to your routine

I’m lucky to work for a company that sells the kind of supplements I’ve been looking for: skin-focused, environmentally friendly, and easy to take. Advanced Nutrition Program (ANP) skin care supplements are formulated with your skin in mind, sustainably formulated with ingredients, and packaged in recyclable canisters. I try to take my skin care supplements in the morning, but since I’m not an early riser, I always forget to take them. Starting in the new year, I’ve switched to a nightly supplement habit where I take my supplements after dinner. When I get to the dinner table, I’m going to take the capsule out and put it next to my plate so I don’t forget.

I hope your new year is off to a good start and you incorporate these resolutions into your beauty and skincare routine. I would like to try my best to live as healthy a life as possible with easy-to-adopt resolutions.
