Best Techniques to Smooth and Remove Glitter *Updated 24/1/30*

Noodles manicures are always all about shine. Everyone loves glitter, but removing it can be a pain. Oh, and I’ve also been known to eat top coats that leave texture on my nails after drying. If you’re particularly sensitive to the feel of polish, try applying a thicker top coat or a second coat of thinner top coat.

Instead of applying two thick top coats, several indie brands are launching products that you can use after your last polish coat and before your top coat. These are generally thicker and will “fill in” the gaps left by the glitter. Here are some products I use and recommend (in no particular order).

2. Jerous From American Classics
3. criminally smooth Glitter Smoothing Top Coat (dries to a matte finish unlike the others)

6. Smooth and Shine Duo by Esmaltes da Kelly (available in Polish pickup some months)

To use these glitter-grabbing top coats, it’s best to let the polish dry for a few minutes before applying. If you apply the Glitter Grabber too quickly, your nail polish will eat up the Glitter Grabber a little bit, and even after you add a quick-drying top coat, it can still have a bit of nail polish texture. Using it this way requires a little more patience, but it’s worth it.

We also use a peel-off base coat to make it easier to remove. It is recommended UNT ready for takeoff, Hit the Bottle Keepin’ It Peelor black dahlia lacquer Because they all work well (I’m not affiliated with any site or brand…I’m just sharing the love). Hit the Bottle can sometimes come off during the day, so UNT works better for my body chemistry. He seems to be having a hard time finding UNT these days. holo tacos One if you really need one. I understand that you want your polish to last a little longer. In that case, foil method It works best when you are ready for change.a clip like these Inexpensive and great for holding cotton balls in place. I hope this helps. Thumb/Forefinger/Middle Finger: 2 coats of Zoya Jordan under 1 coat of Noodle Nail Polish Hearts and Kisses

Ring finger/pinky finger: Heart & kiss 3 coats

Honestly, this trio is full of glitter in fun shapes. If you love stars, moons, and hearts, this trio is for you. First, there’s Hearts and Kisses. This is a clear-based glitter topper with white matte hearts and a mix of glitter, holo flakes, scattered holos, and fuchsia/raspberry/pink holo glitter. Large glitter pieces like hearts can be difficult to fish out of the bottle, but this one has plenty of them so you don’t have to fish them out. That being said, I do recommend turning the bottle upside down for a few minutes before applying the polish. You can layer it with 3 coats, but I think it’s better to use it as a topper. The texture changes as it dries, so add a shimmering top coat to create a glass-like finish.

Next up is How Sweet It Is, the only crelly in this set. Contains matte white/magenta glitter and metallic and holo fuchsia glitter in an orchid crery base. The base is a little sheer, but it has a lot of glitter in it, so I only needed two coats. This is a typical Valentine’s Day. Again, it gets a lot of texture as it dries, so you’ll need to apply a top coat to smooth out the glitter, or two coats of a thicker top coat to smooth it out. Also, if necessary, we recommend waiting a few minutes for the polish to dry before using a top coat. This will keep the top coat from “eroding” into the polish.

Thumb/Forefinger/Middle Finger: Apply two coats of Morgan Taylor Little Black Dress and one coat of Noodles Nail Polish underneath.

Ring finger/pinky finger: Apply 3 coats to the moon and back.

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to introduce you to my favorite of the collection, To the Moon and Back. I love the glitter of the stars, moon, and hearts! I can’t help it! This is a clear base glitter topper with silver moon/silver mini hearts/gold mini stars that sparkle in silver/gold/violet/fuchsia holo and metallic finishes. This one is full of glitter so I don’t feel like I need to go fishing like I talked about above. If you’re a fan of shaped polishes, you need to get this. This can be built up in 3 coats, but again, I think I prefer this as a topper. I love it!

Come on, everyone! Set an alarm for Friday and find out what you like. I love all three, but I like fun sparkles, so my top picks are To the Moon and Back and Hearts and Kisses. YFor more information about Noodles Manicure, Website, instagram page, Facebook pageand Facebook fan group.
