This is a photo-heavy post, so why not?

Best Techniques to Smooth and Remove Glitter *Updated 24/1/30*

Noodles manicures are always all about shine. Everyone loves glitter, but removing it can be a pain. Oh, and I’ve also been known to eat top coats that leave texture on my nails after drying. If you’re particularly sensitive to the feel of polish, try applying a thicker top coat or a second coat of thinner top coat.

Instead of applying two thick top coats, several indie brands are launching products that you can use after your last polish coat and before your top coat. These are generally thicker and will “fill in” the gaps left by the glitter. Here are some products I use and recommend (in no particular order).

2. Jerous From American Classics
3. criminally smooth Glitter Smoothing Top Coat (dries to a matte finish unlike the others)

6. Smooth and Shine Duo by Esmaltes da Kelly (available in Polish pickup some months)

To use these glitter-grabbing top coats, it’s best to let the polish dry for a few minutes before applying. If you apply the Glitter Grabber too quickly, your nail polish will eat up the Glitter Grabber a little bit, and even after you add a quick-drying top coat, it can still have a bit of nail polish texture. Using it this way requires a little more patience, but it’s worth it.

We also use a peel-off base coat to make it easier to remove. It is recommended UNT ready for takeoff, Hit the Bottle Keepin’ It Peelor black dahlia lacquer Because they all work well (I’m not affiliated with any site or brand…I’m just sharing the love). Hit the Bottle can sometimes come off during the day, so UNT works better for my body chemistry. He seems to be having a hard time finding UNT these days. holo tacos One if you really need one. I understand that you want your polish to last a little longer. In that case, foil method It works best when you are ready for change.a clip like these Inexpensive and great for holding cotton balls in place. I hope this helps. Noodles Nail Polish Alpine Glow (2 coats)

It’s a bang bang start! When Natalie tells us about her flaky and glitter combo, you know this is a top pick. Alpine Glow has a soft periwinkle crelly base with silver metallic glitter, light pink holo glitter, and color-changing aqua/pink/silver/violet flakes. It’s a perfect color from winter to spring. The flakes sit well in the background and add just the right amount of texture. The photo shows two coats, and when it dries it looks a little textured, but in this case, it might be okay to apply just one coat of top coat.

Noodles Manicure Hygge Season (2 coats)

I think the next one will be a favorite for many people. There’s something about Natalie’s Light Glitter Crelly that makes you want to get your hands on it. Hygge Season has a very light gray crelly base with metallic aqua/copper/fuchsia/periwinkle glitter, pink holo glitter, and matte periwinkle glitter. It’s so light that it naturally looks a bit taupe. The color combination is also beautiful. I was expecting to need 3 thin coats, but I was happy with just 2 coats. This also dries down with texture from all the glitter.

Noodles Manicure Polar Nights (2 coats)

Next, we have another top pick, which was a little unexpected. When I saw the bottle, I thought it would be more sparkly, but it actually looks more sparkly. Polar Nights has a deep navy cream base with plenty of silver flakes, scattered holos, and fine light blue glitter and soft blue glitter. It reminds me of the night sky in the countryside, so you can really see a lot of stars. This was very opaque and hardly needed a second coat. Oh, and since this is mostly fine flakes, it dries pretty smoothly. Therefore, you only need to apply a simple top coat to get a glossy finish.

Thumb/Forefinger/Middle Finger: 2 Coats Zoya Val Lower 1 Coat Noodle Nail Polish Silver White Winters

Ring finger/pinkie: Noodle nail polish silver white winters 3 coats

Yay, the second glitter topper is ready! Silver White Winters is a clear-based topper studded with holo, periwinkle/silver/lilac metallic glitter, and white matte glitter. I have shown it as a topper or alone in 3 thin coats. This one has a lot of holo shimmer, so it helps cover your nails if you want to use it alone. It’s very wintery in a good way. This dries down along with the texture, so apply another bust-up top coat to smooth out the shine.

Noodles Manicure Winter Wish (2 coats)

Last, but certainly not least, is Winter Wish. This photo is very good! It looks like the holo glitter is just popping. Winter Wish is the only jelly in the collection, with a deep purple base, silver/copper/pink holo glitter, and square and hexagonal copper metallic glitter. This has that fluffy look, so if that’s one of your favorite looks, this is the one for you. I find that jelly tends to show a lot of texture (because jelly is always shiny and the light reflects ripples). Therefore, using an additional top coat will help give it a smooth, crumbly look.

Come on, everyone! I really like the color palette of this collection. My top picks are Alpine Glow, Arctic Constellations, and Polar Night, but you can’t go wrong with any of these beauties. Which is your favorite? Don’t forget. You can get any of these, as well as any of the Valentine’s Day trio polishes, on Noodle’s website this coming Friday, February 2nd at 6pm.
