If you’re someone who needs makeup all day long, you know that finding a good setting spray can really help. I’ve been spinning the Nyx Face Glue Setting Spray. This is what you need to know.
My review
First impression: Lightweight yet effective
One of the first things I noticed about this setting spray is how it feels. Unlike some other setting sprays that make your face feel a little damp or heavy, Nyx’s face glue feels refreshing and light. The makeup is not heavy and does not leave any sticky or sticky residues. This is, honestly, one of my pet pee with long clothing products.
I’m really grateful that the spray doesn’t actually change the look and finish of my makeup. The formula has matte ingredients, but my skin still shines naturally. It helps to keep everything right and right without messing around with the textures I created.
Will it work?
When it comes to setting up sprays, I’m not really a professional. I tend to wear very natural makeup with formulas that last anyway, so I can take them or leave them, but I really enjoy testing this.
I was very impressed by the difference it makes to my makeup while my glasses are sitting. What I hate wearing glasses is that every time I take off or adjust my glasses, there is a risk of confusing my makeup. However, I was delighted to be surprised that NYX’s facial adhesive set spray had everything in place. When I wore this spray, I realized that my makeup wasn’t too upset under the pressure of my glasses.
Comparison: NYX vs. Charlotte Tilbury
I love CT setting sprays so I wanted to make this comparison (reviewed here). The CT setting spray is definitely more luxurious. I will not deny that. It has a finer fog and the luxurious feel you’d expect from a high-end brand. The mist is very soft, almost cloudy and while it is a lovely experience to use, for some people it has a floral scent that may break the contract. I personally really like the scent, but that’s not for everyone.
The Charlotte Tilberry Spray also gives a slightly more sparkling finish and is perfect for its fresh, sparkling look.
The Nyx Face Glue Setting Spray doesn’t have the same refined mist or the luxurious feel of the Charlotte Tilbury version, but it still works very well. There is no scent here. This is good for those who are sensitive to adding fragrances. I feel that spraying is effective when it comes to holding makeup in place. The mist is not as good as the CT one, but it’s still pretty even.
The ones in NYX contain alcohol, but they are offset with humectant (propylene glycol), so you can see that they are not dry. However, if you have dry skin, Formula alcohol may not be the best for you.
Charlotte Tilbury has more hydration ingredients within the formula, but NYX actually has a bit of skincare, but it doesn’t really boast. It has Eisa Saccachalam Extract (Sugar Maple Extract), a great antioxidant that helps keep the skin hydrated. This is a huge plus, especially in the NYX price range.
Final thoughts
If you’re looking for something that’s effective and lightweight at an affordable price, this is definitely worth a try. It keeps my makeup pretty intact without changing the finish or feeling heavy, and I love it that helps prevent my glasses from moving my makeup. If you’re hunting for a hardworking, long-standing setting spray that doesn’t break the bank, it’s definitely something to keep your beauty arsenal!
