Things are a little crazy here at Casa MBB!
Over the course of a week, we adopted a rescue dog, Marnie Marie, and dove deep into all things puppy-related, including crate training, house training, vet visits (for check-up appointments), behavioral training, and more. All training.
I think the fact that she’s Australian also takes things to the next level.
I never realized how unique it is to live with a sheepdog until I saw her jump across the couch and into the cushions as if nothing was wrong, her belly sailing over me. It was.
As a side note, I swear when this happened, everything was in slow motion. Has your dog ever jumped over you in a high rainbow arch? That’s insane.
It was a big change for all of us. To be honest, I don’t know if I was fully prepared for the tumultuous intensity of our lives, but I guess that’s just the way the world keeps turning. I can’t help but think of the words Lucy, a wise old landlady, told me many years ago when I told her I wasn’t sure if I was ready for a big change in my marriage. She said, “You’re never ready for anything,” and that was one of the best pieces of advice I ever received.
I still don’t know how to balance everything I want to do. This past week, I’ve been trying to find the time and mental space to write, but I’ve been worried that I won’t have as much time to type on the keyboard as I would like.
I know I have to give everyone in the house lots of grace, including myself.

Please take a good rest on Saturday. I’m taking Connor to dance rehearsals for some upcoming shows. Yes, May is another big dance month for her. I’m so lucky to have so many beautiful girls to take care of. I am now officially a mother of three children.
