Courtney and I launched a capsule collection ivy city company! Each holiday dress (and jumpsuit!) is inspired by your favorite Nutcracker classic.
Those of you who have followed me for a long time know that I used to have my own clothing line, Postlapsaria. Years ago…I mean age before. I was in my teens and 20s, and now I’m 40 years old. When I closed Postlapsaria, I thought I would never go back to making clothes. It took me a short time to make soft accessories, it took me a long time to create a capsule collection of eyewear, but I thought I’d quit making clothes forever. My sewing machine has become a tool for repairing, altering, and sometimes changing costumes. But in 2020, I gave it my all again and never looked back.
I didn’t expect to return to my work yet. I like designing and making things, but I don’t like running a clothing business. My dream was to create a capsule collection where I could focus on design and fine-tuning samples, and the company could take care of production and logistics. So when courtney She asked me if I would be interested in collaborating with Ivy City, and I was happy to do so! Especially since they are such a large company, with a collection inspired by The Nutcracker. I felt it was perfect for. Check out each product below and shop them all here.
candy cane jumpsuit
of candy cane jumpsuit It’s the most comfortable piece in the collection and can be worn all year round. Made from super soft cotton and fully lined (also cotton!), this piece has a flowing pajama-like drape. Available from XXS to 5X.
Like Courtney, use a self-tie or swap out your favorite belt. A zipper in the back and functional buttons in the front make breastfeeding even easier for moms like Kourtney. I’m wearing a S in this – size US 6.
clara dress
The Clara dress is my personal favorite and I wear it the most out of the many, but I’m very biased because I selfishly wanted the babydoll empire waist mini dress. Hey, I like what I like! Oversized ribbon on the back snaps on and off (easy to wash!). This green plaid is perfect for Christmas, but it’s another plaid that can be worn in any season. Available from 00 to 34W. I’m wearing a size 4 (usually a 6).
nutcracker dress
of nutcracker dress is our best seller. You can see why. The ultimate holiday dress is a holiday flannel with a built-in petticoat for added volume. The skirt is lined, so it’s comfortable to wear, and the sleeves have just the right amount of volume. There are 00 to 34W for adults, and there is also a mini size. You can cinch the waist with a ribbon that ties in the front, as shown here, or you can also tie it in the back. Courtney likes to wrap it in the back and then in the front, creating a little bow on the side.
sugar plum fairy dress
we, sugar plum fairy dress Derived from junior prom dresses of the late 50s and early 60s with floaty bodices and sheer layered skirts, but made more casual by using knitted velvet rather than more structured fabrics. It has become. To add some extra whimsy, I also added a little scalloped detail. Sometimes you want your holiday dress to be cute and comfortable, right? This dress has a size 00-34W and kids sizeToo!
snowflake dress
of snowflake dress Not only XXS-5X, kids size. Crafted from icy blue tulle with silver snowflakes, this holiday dress will keep you glamorous all winter long. A zipper in the back and added smocking make the sizing even more forgiving. When I wear this dress, I hear Kacey Musgraves singing, “Go out in powder blue and hold my hair high.”
flower waltz dress
of flower waltz dress Crafted from pink tulle fabric in shades of ombre, it features a tailored bodice with a sweetheart neckline and short puff sleeves. This holiday dress can be worn with or without a removable sash or with your choice of belt or sash. Sizes range from 00 to 34W.
