Bonjour toute le monde! Staycation starts this week, will I be able to schedule blog posts and catch up? Who knows. Catching a cold over the weekend definitely ruined my plans to be productive and enjoy the summer, but I’m feeling better soon. I’ll have activities planned for the weekend so hopefully I’ll be all set!
Last month, I finally got to try out the fruity mask series. Superfoods I liked it quite a bit, but after trying the third mask, I realized that the results were pretty similar in all aspects, so it didn’t really make sense to review each mask separately. All four masks contained the right concentrations of plant-derived ingredients.
Nutritious Coconut*
What’s so special about this mask? It’s packed with botanical ingredients, including coconut water, known for its extremely hydrating and soothing effects on the skin, Japanese seaweed extract (antioxidant properties), black locust extract (antioxidant and skin-soothing properties), and lichen extract (purifying properties), all of which are also listed at the top of the ingredients list.
All the masks look and feel exactly the same on the skin, and what I like about this coconut mask is that it contains creamy essence but doesn’t leave a sticky feeling. There’s just enough essence and it has a subtle coconut scent.
Energizing Tomato*
What’s so special about this mask? The ingredient list includes tomato fruit extract as well as carrot, parsley, licorice and peach extract, making it just like a salad.
Balanced Mangosteen*
What’s so special about this mask? The antioxidant properties of mangosteen fruit extract are what make this mask so great, but it also contains a number of other botanical ingredients, including rambutan and lychee extracts. This is the first time I’ve seen rambutan extract in a skincare product, but if you like Asian fruits, this is a fun product.
Since “balancing” often means controlling sebum and oil, I didn’t expect this mask to be as moisturizing as other masks, but it did have a slight sweet scent and was just as moisturizing and sticky as my previous masks.
Fortified Blueberry*
What’s so special about this mask? Of course, it’s blueberry extract! Of these masks, this one has the highest concentration of the main ingredient and the least “fruit” in the ingredient mix. Blueberries are known to be great antioxidants, so it’s nice to see them so high on the list.
This mask smells a bit like blueberries and is just as pleasant as the other masks, the differences between these masks are very subtle and for me it just depends on the scent and my mood.
Unfortunately, it looks like these masks aren’t available yet. What a shame.
