I have to say that I fell in love with this foundation the first time I tried it, even before I found the perfect shade. The texture of the serum is very beautiful and it blends into the skin like skin care. It’s unscented, but it smells like skin care, which I love.

It has high coverage and even the lightest layer will give your skin a flawless finish. The finish is radiant and healthy and on me it doesn’t feel sticky. It has a very bouncy look and an overall gorgeous finish. Plus, it has great corrective power, so you can skip the concealer if you want.

It’s very comfortable to wear and the only time I worry about powder is when I’m having a long day. It leaves my skin feeling very moisturized and calm.

What skin types is it suitable for?

According to Shiseido, Shiseido Revitalescence Skin Glow Foundation is suitable for all skin types, from dry to oily skin. I have combination dehydrated skin and I really like it. Personally, people with mature, dry skin types will really love this foundation. This is because this foundation is highly moisturizing and provides a beautiful, glowing finish. It can also be used by oily skin types, but it is best to apply powder on areas that are prone to shine.

Does it need to be powdered?

I think this is completely up to you and also depends on how much foundation you use. I don’t think you need much powder if you apply it lightly. More coverage will make the finish more radiant, and shinier areas may need a little more powder. It is certainly not necessary to set the entire face.

If you are concerned about shine, we recommend applying a small amount of powder to the area. In my case, it’s on my chin and a little on the side of my nose.

Is it easy to apply and how do I apply it?

This is a very easy foundation to apply and blend. Its light, liquid-like texture melts easily into the skin, creating a beautifully smooth finish with minimal blending.

Since it’s a skin care product, it’s really nice to blend it in with your fingertips. If you want more coverage, we recommend using Shiseido’s HASU FUDE Foundation Brush.

What kind of coverage does Shiseido Revitalescence Skin Glow Foundation have?

This foundation is designed as a light to medium buildable coverage foundation. I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how much coverage this formula was able to provide considering the very light texture it has.

One layer provides light to medium coverage and leaves your skin looking flawless and glowing. You can further build on the appropriate media to cover the areas you want to cover.

I’ve tested this a few times and skipped the concealer, but I didn’t really miss it. As a light-medium coverage foundation, it does a great job of perfecting your skin.

What does the finish look like?

The finish of Shiseido Revitalescence Skin Glow Foundation is truly beautiful. As someone who is always looking for glow, I love the glowing finish of this foundation and it’s quite customizable. It gives a soft glow when applied lightly and the shine can be built up with additional layers so you can get it as bright as you like and lightly set it on areas where you don’t want the shine.

How bright is it?

As I mentioned earlier, you can customize your glow with this foundation. A lightweight layer perfectly covers the skin and gives it a soft glossy glow. You can enhance the shine with additional layers without making it too heavy or shiny. It is very beautiful.

Is it also suitable for dry or mature skin types?

This foundation is perfect for dry, mature skin as it is highly hydrating and nourishing, giving a juicy, healthy and youthful finish. Skincare ingredients help moisturize her 24 hours a day and protect her skin barrier. It also contains smoothing and brightening niacinamide.

Is Shiseido Revitalescence Skin Glow Foundation suitable for oily skin types?

This has a beautiful, glowing finish and while I know many people with oily skin types prefer a more matte finish, it may not be an obvious choice for those with oily skin. However, a light application will give you a very natural glow, and you can apply powder to areas of particular concern. This formula contains niacinamide, which is great for balancing your skin and regulating oil production. Perfect for all skin types.

Will it last long?

I’m really happy with how this foundation feels on my skin, especially since it’s a glowing foundation for skin care. I mostly wear it without powder and it sits beautifully on my skin all day long. I’m a mixed type, but as I get older, my skin tends to get drier and dehydrated. It’s very gentle on pores and makes them look less noticeable for most of the day.

Can it also cover melasma?

I don’t have melasma, but I find this works wonders in evening out my skin tone and minimizing hyperpigmentation and dark spots. A light application will give you perfect coverage for your beautiful skin, so like I said, you don’t have to use concealer if you want a truly natural look. It has a light texture and great coverage.

Can it cover redness?

I have redness around my chin and nose, but when I apply this foundation lightly, the redness disappears immediately. Great for evening everything out and giving a very natural yet flawless look.

What is the difference between Shiseido Revitalescence Skin Glow Foundation and Synchro Skin Self Refreshing Foundation?

The Synchro Skin Self Refreshing Foundation is also one of my favorite everyday foundations. I am wearing the shade 310 Silk and find that it gives a similar tone and shade to Revitalessence in 250 Sand. The latter feels a little light when you apply it, but as the skin care gets absorbed, it becomes more and more beautiful.

Revitalescence is more radiant and has slightly less coverage than Synchro Skin, but it neutralizes redness and pigmentation and blurs pores and fine lines, making your skin super flawless.

my shade

I know this is a very important part for all my shade twins.

I spent a lot of time choosing a shade from the three samples I have. As you can see from the photo, the shades are quite close, with slight nuances in the undertones. Having tried all three, I determined that 250 is my best match.

You will notice that the drydown of this formula is slightly thicker than it initially appears. This is not due to oxidation, but rather because the skin care ingredients settle down as they sink into your skin, so it may probably be a little lighter than you expected.

For reference, my favorite shade of Shiseido’s Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation is 310 Silk.

Another very helpful reference is Deauville’s NARS Light Reflecting. Check it here.
