“I grew up in Sydney, Australia. It’s not brokena 2014 film directed by Angelina Jolie. My role was eventually cut down completely, but the job took me to LA and helped me get my visa. I’ve done a few other films, and honestly, when you’re not passionate about the project, it’s hard to give the right attention. That’s all about saying I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I always knew I’d loved cooking. Then my friend, who was planning on opening a cafe, asked me to create their breakfast menu. I spent months doing it and nothing happened with that concept as the cafe never opened. However, this was the first time I’d developed a recipe professionally and wanted to do more of it, so I became a private chef. When I threw these amazing dinner parties, more people started hiring me. This led to the following and established a catering and production company. Sophie’s Table. Our event is everywhere with 10-300 guests in Los Angeles and New York.
I was lucky enough to work with brands like load, Cezan, Oddly, Olebela By Bella Hadid and Sephora. What’s really special is that in addition to allowing me to make foods I love, these events give me the opportunity to create beautiful tablescapes. When we worked together Samabedroom furniture company, made an ice tower. We designed a food tray that matches the colour of their wood. At the menu level, the company is based in San Francisco, so everything was inspired by the city. The theme was “sourdough.” Of course we had seafood. There were oysters and grilled mussels surrounded by pickled Iraqi pickles and tomato vinegar. The carrots were inspired by my dad. Growing up, we always had this big pickle jar in the fridge, so my dad would constantly pack scraps of food. My dad also has a catering company, so including one of his dishes in his own project was a complete circle moment.
skin care
I have dry skin that sometimes is a little red and bumpy, so I try not to use too much on it. Sometimes I pour water on my face in the morning. That’s true if you’re using a cleanser Viva de Suza’s daily stuff. Recently I’ve been doing spritz with myself Goldfaden MD’s Mist Rx– It’s great after I put on makeup – before layering Merit’s great skin serum. My skin really absorbs it. I have a pretty natural dark circle of eyes that look sinking – and I don’t really like sleeping that much either – I always look tired, but I really think Goldfaden’s bright eyes concentrate It’s helpful. Next, apply both Great skin moisturizers of merit or Emma Lewisham’s supernatural rich cream Let it dry. Emma is also from Australia. She’s also great Lighting body oil It is slightly bronze colour and makes me shine very much. And I will do my best with sunscreen. Some of my makeup have SPF, but when I’m not wearing it with sunscreen, I like it All Tone SPF 30 in Lessewith these really light drops, I feel a fresh face. Oh, and the only lip mask I like Ilia lip wrap. I’m very reluctant to balms as they usually dry out my lips even more, but I love wearing a thick layer of this on the bed and I always wake up with soft lips. And that’s pretty much that. I don’t get a facial – I want to start but I don’t do Botox. Once I got the lip filler I panicked and dissolved two weeks later. I went out a little and I think my lips felt bumpy. By the way, it damages the lip filler very much. My lips felt like they were piercing. And will you melt it? It’s just as painful.
compensate
I always keep my skin to a fairly minimal, but I love it Ciele’s Serum Foundation in Light medium. It gives me some coverage, but really my skin feels like it’s still my skin and I don’t feel like I’m wearing a mask. There is also SPF 50 Saiy Slip Tint Concealer It’s not heavy. One thing about me: I love heavy eyes and eyebrows. Chanel Brow powder It’s amazing. It lasts quite lightly, so you can build it as much as you like. I’ve tried other people who are too faint, but this gives you more control over the strength so that your eyebrows don’t feel like two completely different colors or shapes. You can’t really fuck it. On the other hand, I recently tried it, but the old liquid eyeliner is Nyx’s epic inkliner And I’m obsessed because it’s easy to wear and lasts forever. I have tried so many expensive ones, but it has been very difficult to get a clean line as it follows me two weeks before fade or dry. I always go to brown shades. But when it comes to mascara… I never wear it. I think it’s really hard to remove and there’s already not much eyelashes so you don’t need to put them on the squeeze.
Hair and scent
I cut my own hair and learned this through confidence and instinct. And many bad haircuts. [Laughs] Sometimes it’s the best cut ever. I did it so right, so asked me to do their hair. I also asked me a friend who is a model. I remember saying that I probably shouldn’t because she relies on her looks, but she was in the end very happy.
To wash, use Davines Momo Shampoo and conditioner. They smell very good and I like the way my hair feels after I use them. I have a lot of hair, but it’s really okay, so it can really tie up, especially when I’m in New York and I’m wearing a jacket. I feel it would be better to have some kind of “protection.”
