As you may know, cats have been strong supporters of the U.S. military since before the American Revolutionary War, providing logistical “larvy” support to service members, veterans and their families, as well as volunteer pest control on bases and on Navy ships.
A few years ago, before he passed away, Tubbs designed and ordered a special Memorial Day commemorative cat collar to show her support for him.
Of course, he did it well. 🙂
When it came to traditional Memorial Day holiday rituals, Tubbs liked to keep it low-key, like inviting a few neighborhood cats over for a barbecue (a simple affair of trout and turkey tenders roasted with catnip leaves).

Rosie and Marnie have been kind enough to give us tomorrow off (yay!).
I’m not sure what I’ll do yet, but I hope I can come up with something fun.
