Tarte has launched a sparkling version of its viral version Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump – Shimmer Glass ($24) And as a big fan of this formula and shimmery lips, I ordered almost every shade to try.Total 12 shades are available tart cosmetics and 8 are available at: sephora. (I collected all colors except purple.)
After testing the color, I found that the shine is quite strong, but it doesn’t have any texture or gritty feel.Very smooth like the others maracuja juicy lips. The feedback from many of you based on my lip swatches here is very mixed. Some of us may be living for the sparkling vibes of the 90s. Some people absolutely hate it.
I like some of the shades. Mainly warm and bold colors. The cool tones looked quite frosty on my lips (almost blue), but I think this is mainly because my lip tones are on the darker side. Colors tried:
- pearl shimmer glass is a white frosty pearl, which contrasts the most with my natural lips and gives an icy white finish.
- soft pink shimmer glass A beautiful pale champagne pink with a purple/blue flash, this gave my lips a very cool tone.
- peach shimmer glasses is one of my favorites, a soft pale peach champagne that resembles a soft pink. However, this one suited my lips better as it was warmer.
- sunflower shimmer glass is a yellow glow like a sunflower. The stock promo photos for this shade are misleading and feel like they don’t match in all the photos. Most of the stock photos show a very pale yellow glow, but it’s actually a really sunny-looking yellow.
- coral shimmer glass is a beautiful bright coral shade whereas this one is a very frosty shade. I think you might also like the non-sparkly version.
- pink shimmer glass It’s a cool baby pink, very blue and not flattering on my skin tone, but it looks very pretty in the tube.
- rose shimmer glasses A beautiful soft pink rose.
- rosy copper shimmer glass One of the shades in the holiday set, this is a very pretty coppery shade.
- rosy mauve shimmer glass is a cool-toned mauve, I really like this color, it’s cool but not too cool.
- berry shimmer glass It’s a beautiful plum red. It reminds me of MAC Sophisto with a little more sparkle.
- ruby shimmer glass This one is also pretty, with a soft red glow, not too deep or too warm, just right.
I swatched them all on the lips of this reel. I took pictures of my favorites and my least favorites (the pink one) to show you how cool the tones are.

Overall, I’ve found a few things that I really like and have been in my wallet for the past few weeks. I don’t think it’s for everyone. The shimmer is a bit strong, but for some shades, the shimmer only gets stronger under direct sunlight or studio lights.
My top three favorites are Rosy Copper, Peach, and Berry. I’m on the fence about this level of shimmer/frost. I didn’t like the recent Dior Addict Lip Maximizer or Chantecaille Holiday Lip. I think it depends on the color and how that tone compliments your complexion.
