Oh, something really funny happened at work yesterday afternoon. I’ve been super busy at work these past few weeks, and I’ve been glued to my computer screen from the moment I arrive at work until the moment I leave. Anyway, when I have to keep track of a lot of stuff, I have this system of using different pens and pencils, and yesterday afternoon, I had a secret panic because I couldn’t find my mechanical pencil. I’d just used it to jot down a few notes, and then all of a sudden, it was gone.
After looking around and giving up, I went back to my work and tried to finish it without the pencil. That day, before I got home from work, I went to the bathroom and realized I had the pencil in my hair the whole time. Hahaha! I had been so preoccupied with my thoughts that I forgot that I had a pencil in my hair tied up in a bun. Mystery solved!
So, I’m on a mission to find new summer work clothes, so I ordered a few dresses from Nordstrom Rack (we call it “The Rack” at work). I wore one of them, a navy blue floral dress by Vince Camuto, because 1) I live with three spunky ladies (Connor, Rosie, and Marnie) so I’ll probably never take regular photos again, and 2) I absolutely love this dress.
I love the drape, the wrinkle-resistant material (it’s polyester, which isn’t my favorite but at least it’s not scratchy), the slight puffiness of the sleeves (puffy, but not too puffy), the pockets, and the print. As a side note, I’ve been really into prints lately; they seem to do a great job of hiding pet hair and bits of food or sauce that you’ve spilled on yourself. Sigh.
The only thing I don’t like is that the material itself is a bit too heavy for really hot days – I wouldn’t wear this dress if I knew I was going to have to walk around in 90+ degree heat.
Oh, and as you can see in the photo above, I paired it with pink Nikes and a denim jacket, but I think it could just as easily be dressed up with some cute heels and a blazer.
Finally, I found this tomato by chance at Trader Joe’s and now it’s my favorite. I bought it at first because I thought it was cute. LOL! But it was so good! So flavorful!
I can’t stand the way that when you bite into a tomato it tastes like you’re eating air, I could easily eat a whole bag in one meal, so now I look for them every time I go to TJ’s, and if you see them, grab them!
