Every great love story has a great beginning. The mine began via email. Except that is not the kind of love story you’re thinking of. I have a friendship with my best friend, Daniela Morosini. Beauty business. The year was 2019 and I worked for new york’sCutting as a social media editor, moonlight as a beauty writer. Kathleen Hou, my editor and now a beauty director Elle, I handed Daniela’s name on why your skin is so good. My column was dedicated to revealing people’s skincare secrets. On October 8th, I wrote to Daniela: Please tell us more about your skincare routine + beauty philosophy for consideration. I love the list of products I use and how it turned out to be in my skincare routine. (Only last year I learned from the tone of my email that I think I am passively offensive.) One short message transcends the ocean long friendship in a year. Little did I know of inspiring – 3,470 miles to be exact.
You know, I live in New York City and Daniela lives in London and grew up there. In other words, it takes a little more work than the average friendship to maintain our relationship. Meticulously scheduled faces and phone calls, amazing care packages and snail mail, and more recently, rocketiPhone widgets allow you to share live photos directly on someone’s home screen. It’s a bright place in my time to unlock my phone and see her leaving behind a stupid little selfie and encouragement note. And of course, we are both obsessed with beauty, so we can record and review lots of products with each other along the short ones (the rocket can only leave notes of less than 25 characters!). I’ve left it. Prior to Galentin’s Day this year, we wrote each other’s letters and expanded our thoughts on what we cannot gush out. It’s another cold and windy day in New York where you aren’t. I can’t wait for you to move here and we can grab a coffee and talk endlessly without worrying about the 5 hour difference. In the meantime, I need to keep up with a few things. I already know that the other day I fell from a huge flight on the stairs of the building (I’m hurt, but it’s fine!), but what I really want to say to you is that I think I might have a problem. That’s what it is. Yesterday I opened my wallet and found out that there wasn’t just two, but 12 (!!) Rippie. Farrah Homidi Reiner You handed it to me in LA last June. You nailed it when you chose Minky For me. It pairs very beautifully with almost one of my lip gloss, but recently I’ve been topping it Eadem le Chouchou in Burnt malai or Amicol Lip Oil in Excellence. You know I’m a sucker in dusty rose shades and these two fit perfectly with the bill. Incidentally, I’m still crazy about it Lily-Rose Depp Combo of Chanel lip liner in Nude Blanc and Rouge Coco Flash in boy. But when I want something a little brighter (don’t laugh, you know I’m afraid of colour!), I Westman Atelier Squeaky Clean Balm in petal or U Beauty Lip Compound in rom comI swear that I have appeared in the world. It’s a wonderfully pink colour and the perfect amount of sparkle. There are people waiting for you in my apartment.
Incidentally, all parts of my body are now dry like shells – sexy, I know – and the same applies to my lips. Keeping them moisturized and flake-free was a process. But I have my weapon: Dr. Dennis Gross’ lip treatment (It also gives me beautiful plumpness!) Anifsa’sân-gloss (I have it in every wallet), Glossier’s Balm Dotcom (in Black Cherry Obviously) and ReTrouvé Serum (It’s always the first in my multi-step lip routine). This is what they meant when they said they would take the village, right? Meanwhile, I’ve been drying up like my own body Tronk brushand if I feel extra motivation, or if I’m not frozen before I jump into the shower, Lilith Instant Peel. Order goes: toner, fog on the face (I finished the bottle of s’eau prima’s and La Prairies), eye cream (I used up my own Bioeffect EGF Power Cream And opened me Augustinus Bader Rich One), and moisturizer (I know I like you Skin Fix Barrier + Creamtoo). And you know you made me crazy Ultra Violet Best Screen Years ago – you can’t count how many bottles I’ve had, or how you sent me across the pond. And for my hands? The generous class of Koba’s hand cream and Dr. Dana’s Cuticle Oil-or Essies apricot roller When you want a little scent. I’ve spilled so many dropper bottles before, so I love the oil coming into the roller.
Ah, don’t worry, but I will change… do you know I hated the perfume on the sweeter side? I just realized that I had never found anything that resonated with me. I’m still wearing it Victoria Beckham Suite 302 For the date – it’s steamy and smoke after all – but every day, I’ve loved it Guidance 46 by Amouage, Umbra by Santa Maria Novelaand Abel’s apartmenteverything mixed with my signature Vanilj by Maya Njie– Amber Grimes told me you have to confuse people with your scent, so I took that to heart. None of them are sweet to Kroy, cozy and warm, with Vanirji? Hmm, I’m crazy. By the way: I know you love Guidance 46;I think of you every time I wear it. Also! I know that all beauty writers always say they get lots of compliments when wearing a particular perfume, but that’s really the case here. i promise!

This week I talked a lot about you. One of my colleagues said to me and quotes, “Because of the smile you get when you talk about her, you can see how much you love her.” We will never beat my wife’s allegations and I am fine with that. It’s just as tough in London as it is in New York. Even while I was shaking, it was smooth, aggressive rain and damp air that stuck my sweater onto my back.
I was rattling alone in my apartment this week. Law and Order: SVU Before Netflix goes offline here in a few days. I understand that when we’re not physically together, there are very few other people I really want to use that And a lot of time. This is a problem to the extent that the therapist said he needed to “find more daise” (don’t worry, I fired him).
But speaking to you is the sunlight of the sun, especially when we recite everything, our shared language, our starting point, our north star. As you know, I’ve just returned from a long trip to Melbourne and packing my luggage for a trip is a great test of the beauty products you actually like. Here’s what I’ve learned: There are many good conditioners on the market, including some of the most spectacularly expensive. Sisley Restructuring Conditioner ($90!), which makes my hair feel like cashmere. but, L’Oréal Pariselvive glycolic gloss conditioner Very good, and when I couldn’t pack enough luggage for a 3 week trip (as Cathay Pacific has some weird rules about a 3 ton bat in your check bag, I was able to grab another Chemist warehouse Enjoy the same soft silky hair. I love it! Because of my hair I couldn’t stop: Oribe’s Gold Last Maskfor additional TLC. but also! In Australia, Kevin Murphy has been rediscovered. Have you ever been part of this brand? It was a hot time in the UK and it appears to have disappeared, but as an Australian brand, it is thankfully still below. That’s… Amazing? All the products feel so professional, smell amazing, just work. Bouncing the broad-cooked spray It’s my favorite right now.
Now you know I’m makeup girly. One of the many things we have in common is that we love to pack a wallet full of lip oil, balms and shades. I think we both love us now Summer Friday Lip Cream–Ice coffee I’ll depend on you, but did you enter? Dream lip oil? They are the holy grail for me. They give you color and shine, but they are not sticky. Blushing dream and Pink clouds It’s about dying. We also know we’ve seen both Load Peptide Lip Shape. I like it lift and bend It gets dirty along with the balm in the middle. Please give it a try! I think it’s new too Celine Le Rouge lipstick It’s really, really good. If you were staying in my this weekend, here is where we are now: we stand in front of my fridge and pull out bottles of wine and chocolate covered fruit (I I know you love it), and I’ll have you choose one or two sheet masks from my cooler. My friend Ramung refilled me last week so I have the load he got into Korea: cosrx, Dr. Jart, JM Solutions…I’m sure I’ll let you use me Lameer Soft Cream– But there is no other. Even if I say my elbows are dry, I will provide it to you. That’s how special you are! I’ll let you use me too Lab Future Focus poemshipped from Canada. It is the best vitamin C, Stephen Coit was a genius who made it. There is no strange smell, no oxidation, no gorgeous, glowy, plump skin.
Also, while I was in Australia, Alex Paget, the founder of educated chaos, gave me a lot of her products. Freeze the frame It’s incredible. I feel like I snatched after using it – you know I love peptides…or 8. She had just regained her clinical trials while we were having lunch and I was able to see how visibly emotional she was. I lost the number of toner/essence/milk I’m locking, but that’s pretty much Road Glazing Milk or La Mer Essence. For some reason, should I apply lip balm while doing this? Flavors of Laneige Sleeping Mask Ideally I would do that vanilla.
Finally, the scent. You know I love the mischievous but lovely scent: sweet, but not. Feminine, but sharp afterwards; get closer and then come back. Right now, what you’re doing for me Guerlain L’Art & La Matiere Tobacco Honey. It’s totally appealing. But I will never turn my back Attrape-rêves It smelled like our trip to LA last year, and you braided my hair and we crocheted from Louis Vuitton as we crocheted sunscreen.
