We spoke with the makeup visionary Rebecca Hickey behind all three seasons White lotus, Uncover her expert tips for achieving that signature shine.

Tell us how you started as a professional makeup artist
I was tearing the pages, so I’m obsessed with all the beauty 17 A magazine from my childhood. I didn’t know that being a makeup artist was a real profession until I graduated from college and moved to New York. I was working for a pharmaceutical company for a moment and knew I had to find creativity again. My parents encouraged me to try makeup school. And two months later, I was on my way to LA to participate in the Makeup Designie. Fast forward 20 years and now I run the make-up division for various TV shows.

How do skin care differ when photographing in humidity and sunny climates?
Lots of peeling and lots of hydration! It’s interesting how your skin really dries in humid climates. I think it’s time for our skin to need a little extra TLC. I love using Eminence organic products under and overmakes to make your skin happy and radiant!

How do you work with the Hair and Costume department to create a cohesive character look?
I love fitting photos and looking into the direction of our costume designers, Alex BovardIt is included for each character. That will cause the juice to flow, then you’ll have a mood board and meetings with the hair team to make sure you create a cohesive look! I always want everyone to feel familiar in some way, so attention to detail, such as nail color, is important to achieving this.
