[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Sometimes people say my reviews aren’t as “edgy” as they used to be, which is true, but that’s not the case. Because “bad” beauty products are far less common than when I started this blog. It used to be that way. I don’t take the “let’s not mention it” approach. It feels like the police would be called in, and since the purpose of this site is to be a guide, I feel it’s useless to filter out terrible products, but over the past decade, beauty has upped its ante and… Productivity has improved significantly. There are many mediocre products out there, but very few that are bad in and of themselves. My biggest problem is the pricing, where a very ordinary INCI commands the same amount of money as an exceptional INCI. The £25 Urban Decay Hydramaniac Blush Glow Hydrator feels expensive for a blush, but at £21.25 (on sale at Essentials) it feels that way. It makes more sense, especially since it is something that will be used for a long period of time.

There are 5 other shades, but I have the shade called Obsessed. This is a type of cherry hit peach. The brand claims 24-hour hydration, but a) who only needs hydration on their cheeks, and b) who needs 24-hour hydration? But if you have dry skin? It’s good to know that no product takes away more moisture than it releases.

The texture is almost a gel-oil, but it spreads beautifully across the cheeks. The formula contains marula oil, which I value more than kombucha filtrate (eye roll), and the finish is shiny and juicy. It’s a good idea to wear it when you want to add brightness without relying on shine. You don’t really need much because the pigment is so good. You don’t really need it, especially if you’re not looking for a cheek gloss. I love how it gives a translucent, light sheen to the wake-up color on my face. I think it really shines in the winter when we need a little natural brightness.

I obviously blend a little more than this, but it’s a luscious streak of color. Urban Decay Hydramaniac Blush Glow Hydrator can be found at Escentual. here.
