Sometimes I wake up in the morning and think, “I’m going to do what Judy Garland used to do and put on a bright reddish-orange lipstick.”
Hey, that totally happens! 🙂
It was my first time seeing “Meet Me in St. Louis” and I was very impressed by how timeless the makeup was for this 1944 film. The reddish-orange lip that appears in many of Judy’s scenes is so beautiful and classic.
After applying lipstick this morning, I remembered that Judy’s lipstick was often shiny in the movie, but I couldn’t do that today (lol)! I’m not the only one who wreaks havoc by wearing glossy red lipstick. Being able to smear it all over my face, teeth, and clothes is like my secret superpower. When it comes to bright lips, matte finishes are much easier for me. This is especially true when paired with matte liners such as: I layered a matte liquid lipstick (MAC Resort Season) here (Urban Decay Bang).
I like musicals and prefer less scary shows and movies, and I really enjoyed “Meet Me in St. Louis.” It was very gentle and easy to watch, and there were quite a few songs that I knew from just hearing them in pop culture. Please watch it if you have a chance! I found it at MAX.
I want to ride the trolley next time
you probably know this
Another thing I love about Judy’s makeup is the way the makeup artists in the movie did it. dottie ponedel, even going so far as to make Judy blush. I love blush, so I wish I could wear it that much in real life, but lately I feel like if I put too much on it, I’ll look like a banana. But if I could, I would swipe as much as possible all day, every day, hahaha.
Have you seen any good movies recently?
