YSL Beauty has updated its cult-favorite Rouge Volupté Shine with a new formula. love shine oil lipstick ($45 each). Apparently the formula has been kept pretty much the same. Revamped with new packaging and new ingredients including fig pulp for sensitive lips.
I loved the original and was very interested in the new colors, so I brought quite a few colors. Their marketing and rebranding is genius. Most of the shades look like new, but there are a few originals in storage, including 44 nude lavallières and 150 nude lingerie pieces.
of love shine formula It’s quite thin and has a glossy balm-like finish. The color doesn’t last very long unless you layer it over a long-wearing lip liner, but the moisture seems to last longer and leaves your lips soft and supple.
Overall these new love shine lipstick It has the same effect as Rouge Volupté Shine. The pigment in the new formula seems to be lighter than the original and the light neutral color looks great on my lips. I found that I really liked the darker lighter shades that I ordered, and if I had to pick them up, I would have chosen all the lighter colors instead.

About the shades I chose:
- 201 Rosewood Blush is a sheer rose pink (looks warm in the tube, but cool on the lips)
- 202 Peach Glow is a taupe rose nude (gives a cool look to the lips)
- 203 Brushed Mallow is a cool mauve color
- 204 Melted Honey is a sheer pale beige
- 205 My naked self is Berry Rose
- 207 Scenic Brown is a berry brownish color.
- 209 Pink Desire is a very warm and bright pink.
- 44 Nude Lavalliere is a cool-toned pale pink
- 150 Nude Lingerie is a warm peachy pink
Note that my arms are very fair-skinned right now, so everything looks warmer than my face. I had some interesting conversations with some people about skin tone and tanning. And many of you have my twin skin with winter skin tone and summer skin tone. Nowadays, many colors (including foundation) have an orange tint to them. Most foundations require a little blending. elf halo glow filter or Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood’s perfect filter In bright colors. The neck area also needs to be blended quite a bit. My skin color hasn’t been very fair since I left San Diego, but since I tan easily, I suspect I’ll soon be back to my fairest skin color all year round.
Feedback from some users about these new Loveshines has been mixed. There are a lot of people who are totally hooked on this totally effortless swipe-and-go vibe. I like it too, but part of me wishes the pigment was maybe 10%-15% stronger. I think the undertone and color are very beautiful, but I wish it showed up better on my lips. I’ve also had several people message me saying they bought it but had to return it because it was too see-through.
I may have skipped a few shades because the ones I chose are similar, but I love what I chose. I can think of opportunities to wear all the shades I choose. My top three are 209 Pink Desires, 150 Nude Lingerie, and 205 Nude Selfies.
